Online poker room builds on success of last month’s Phase competitions with new two-player tournaments

Online three-dimensional poker room PKR.com has expanded its range of tournaments by introducing new Heads-Up Phase games.
The Alderney-licensed site introduced ten-seat Phase tournaments last month where players buy-in for as little as 40 cents and can play their way through five levels to win $700. These competitions allow buy-ins at any level and players can move up or down depending on their standings at each level.
With the introduction of its new Heads-Up Phase tournaments, the pace of play at PKR.com increases with the winners of each two-player battle advancing to the next phase, while opponents drop two levels to take another shot. Players may buy-in at any stage for as little as four dollars and work their way up to a payout of $380.
“Players have really taken to Phase tournaments because they recognise the value of getting so much poker and a shot at such a great prize pool for a really low buy-in,” said Neil Wright, Cardroom Manager for PKR.com. “So moving the concept to a heads-up format made a lot of sense,” he added.
