Football Sponsorship from Everest Poker Not Just for Pros

Amateur football teams in the UK may get Everest Poker Sponsorship

Thursday 30th August 2007

The world of football sponsorship is big business, but Everest Poker will prove popular amongst amateur players who can now compete online for £1000’s worth of football equipment.

The tournament, which is scheduled for 20:00 GMT on August 31st, has the password Football07 but players must make a real money deposit at Everest Poker in order to qualify. There are no restrictions on the number of players each team can enter.

Football sponsorship is a very popular marketing tool with online poker rooms, and Mansion (Tottenham Hotspurs) and 32 Red.com (Aston Villa) are just two of the sites employing it.

However, recent changes to legislation governing the advertising of gambling in the UK will mean that players under 18 cannot carry the logos, and word at the Department of Culture, Media and Sport is that new Prime Minister Gordon Brown is less keen on the industry than his predecessor.
