In America, the Maryland Lottery has unveiled an exclusive scratch-off card themed around the state’s National Football League (NFL) franchise, the Baltimore Ravens.
The NFL recently passed a resolution permitting individual teams to enter into agreements with lotteries in their areas and the team signed a deal last week for the new five-dollar Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off card, which will offer a wide variety of cash prizes including a top award of one million dollars.
The new ticket will be launched in time for the Ravens’ pre-season home opener against the Washington Redskins on August 13 and will also feature a perforated Extra Yards promotion allowing players to enter a special Lottery competition online. By taking part over the Internet, players entering their Extra Yards codes have the chance to win season tickets, game day premium seats, game worn jerseys and numerous other experiential prizes.
“I’m thrilled about this unprecedented partnership linking two Maryland icons,” said Buddy Roogow, Director for the Maryland Lottery.
“This is an excellent affiliation for the Maryland Lottery and I’m looking forward to collaborating with one of the most beloved teams in the NFL.”
The Ravens Cash Fantasy cards are set to generate net revenues of three million dollars for the state and will be sold at every Ravens home game in addition to over 4,000 retail locations.
“We are very pleased that the Maryland Lottery will be selling a Ravens lottery ticket throughout Maryland,” said Dick Cass, President for the Baltimore Ravens.
“The Lottery generates funds that benefit so many people in Maryland and we are proud to have this direct association with the Lottery. We will work hard with the Lottery to make this effort a success.”
Late last week, the Houston Texans became the first franchise to sign an agreement with a lottery after agreeing a similar deal with the Texas Lottery. It has been reported that the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots and Washington Redskins NFL franchises also have similar deals in the works.
