Can Harry Redknapp continue the Tottenham revival against Liverpool?
Friday 31st October 2008
While there is no doubt that Liverpool have been the surprise package of the UK Premiership season so far they will certainly know they have been in a game when they go to Tottenham tomorrow. A win and a draw in Harry Redknapp's first two games seems to have stopped the rot at the once famous Tottenham but they are still second-best at home tomorrow to take three points from Liverpool. Tottenham are available at odds of 2.5/1 and Liverpool are evens to take the win.
However, perhaps an interesting bet is the draw at 2.5/1 with Tottenham apparently firing on all cylinders and Liverpool without some of their top stars through injury. While it would take a brave person to bet against Liverpool, White Hart Lane tomorrow will the rocking with fans rejuvenated after a sudden upturn in fortunes.
Looking a little further ahead Liverpool are still third favourites behind Chelsea and Manchester United for the Premiership title but at odds of 4/1 they appear to be the stronger alternative to the top two. Rafael Benitez has built a very strong squad at Liverpool and many feel that the years in the shadows are now coming to an end.
