UK bookie StanJames signs deal with GameAccount to offer multi-table heads-up tournaments

Players at online sportsbook StanJames.com can now take part in person-to-person skill games such as gin rummy, multi-player blackjack and backgammon following a deal with games provider GameAccount.
The leading UK bookmaker has become the first licensee to join the GameAccount network this year following similar deals signed with operators such as PaddyPower, Sportingbet, William Hill and BoyleSports in 2007.
The multi-year deal will see players at StanJames.com engage in multi-table heads-up tournaments, a first for skill gaming, alongside head-to-head cash games.
'Skill games broaden the demographic appeal of our online sportsbook offering, particularly relevant for southern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern countries where backgammon is a cultural phenomenon,' said Russell Young, Head of eGaming for Stan James.
'GameAccount was chosen after an exhaustive process investigating the potential for these emerging games, the experience of potential suppliers and the technical capabilities of their respective platforms.'
Players will be able to take advantage of GameAccount's recent software upgrade, which includes navigation enhancements for the games lobby, new sides games and more information for tournament players. In addition, in a first for the skill gaming industry, players can launch side games from the site’s lobby without missing any live person-to-person skill gaming action.
