Tom Brady (of BSWPMG fame) is organising this tournament, so I thought I'd give him some publicity for it. I'm going to go up and play both events to support him.
Here's the details: Poker Occasions Festival @ Napoleons Owlerton Casino, 17 Livesey Street, Sheffield - 25th to 27th July 2008 3 days - 2 tournaments - 1 true poker champion who will need to prove they are good enough to 'mix it up' to walk away with the Poker Occasions Festival Trophy. The weekend consists of a 1-day £100 No Limit Texas Holdem 'Tempered' Freezeout played over 8 hours and with a 5,000 chipstack, followed by a 2-day £250 No Limit Texas Holdem 'Deepstack' Freezeout played over 16 hours and with a 10,000 chipstack. A 'Festival Ticket' offers entry to both tournaments and costs £350 (+10% registration fee) - it is not possible to purchase a 'ticket' for a single tournament, however the Festival Ticket can be split between two separate players/friends once purchased. Therefore, entry to a 'single' tournament is only available by splitting a 'Festival Ticket'. All you have to do is decide which player will play in which tournament - the faster more aggressive £100 NLTH FO over 8 hours with 5,000 chipstack or the relaxed, measured and disciplined £250 NLTH FO over 16 hours with 10,000 chipstack? However, it is the individual who can 'mix it up' and play in both tournaments and return the best overall 'combined' result that will be crowned the Poker Occasions Festival Champion and walk away with the Festival Trophy. See here for more details: - Poker Occasions

Matt, I go to Owlerton all the time for my poker as I live in Sheffield, but the players here and staff don't know anything about it. they don't really have any big events at Owlerton.

I'm a possible for this, though only just. If I don't make it then best regards to Tom - fond memories of his Bath games.
