For those of you hosting home games and who happen to have a laptop/PC in the room with you - you may be interested in a free piece of software that keeps track of the tournament for you, when blinds increase, payout structures and so on. Handy especially for those rebuy tournaments I would imagine.
>>TheTournamentDirector<< There is other, better, software out there - but this one seems to fit the porpoise and is free. murphyz |

I'd second that. We have used it in both my home tourneys and it has worked like a dream.
Couple of points though. Perhaps most importantly, depending on how you feel about these things is to point out that whilst it is "free" it is strictly "donationware" that is if you like it, you are supposed to post the creater a donation for making it. Doesn't matter how much, but as other software like this costs around the $50.00 and upwards mark, and this really does everything that they do (from what i can tell anyway) and certainly everything needed for a home game, from randomly selecting seats for everyone, down to sorting out prizes, it is well worth paying something. Before you ask, no, I havent yet. Secondly, on his web page FAQ there are reports from people who had problems getting the software to download and install. I did too, and just could not get it to work at all. Then after completely deleting my web cache, and all downloads, tried again and it arrived and installed perfectly. I'm not sure what happened the first time, but I would recommend it with no hesitation. |

I've only ever used it in two 'home games' and that was between myself and my flatmate, who now refuses to play me as he keeps losing.
