Default Day-8 Trip Report

Louise and Rich are in town this week and i wander over to the Venetian to try and catch them in the $330 event, the place is packed over 600 runners, but i don't see them even though later i findout that they were there.

I meet up with Dan and we grab a bite to eat at Planet Hollywood before making our way over to the Flamingo for some $1/2

I buy in for $250 and sit at a very lively table, one young lad is raising $30/40 each pot, which normally wins him the blinds..but ends up going bust within 30 mins!

Then my biggest hand of the week happens, i am in late position with 44 the pre-flop raise of $10 is called by 6 players.

Flop 4 Q 5 first to act makes it $40 call call Flat call by me......raise $100 fold fold ...Call ...now i am to shocked to act...its takes a long time but i shove for my remaining stack of over $200, initial $100 thinks forever before folding....the other $100 calls straight away (i find out he is on a open ended straight draw)....thank fully does not hit and i scoop a $700 pot!

To be honest after all that excitement i don't catch many hands, i flop a straight later but let players catch up when i try to be to tricky.....i catch a flush draw and another straight to make a little more but the table becomes very tight and little or no action makes me lose interest vey quickly, at this time ... Steve Found, Louise and Rich drop in play ...and we end up chatting about tomorrow and Vegas etc, not long later i cash out

Buyin $250 Cashout $776.00

Tomorrow i will play the last of my festival events a Caesars Palace and just pray for little more luck!

lol, me too

Is that it then?...

The last person who updated the Yate results while he was away was amazingly punctual and reliable. Whoever is doing it now is shit and hasn't sent off a single result since he's been away and, in all probability, has lost them

Default Day-9 Trip Report

Its offical i now suck at tournament poker.....me Steve Found, Louise, Rich, and James Conlon played the $235 at Caesars Palace today.

I sit at table 63 seat 2 right in the corner of the poker room, we have 590 entries and after a days break i am looking foward to mixing it up again.

Nothing much happens in the first two 50 minute levels, its a friendly table except a young guy in seat 8 who acts like he has the nutz everytime a player bets into him, and then the 5minute dialogue on how he has the other player beat...but will fold this one time! (yawn)

Starting stack is 7.5K and on the 4th level i have a rush of cards, QQ which is raised pre-flop so i re-raise and the player folds, then i get AA....i raise then get re-raised so i push other player folds ...utg next hand QQ i raise goes around to the SB who i recognize (he reached the final table in 2004 main event i find out later) he only sat down 4 hands ago and must think i am a very aggressive player...he stares me down for ever and finally shoves ...he has 99 and i win that race.and move up to around 19K average is 11K.

Then the hand before the break i get AA ....player pushes all in for 3K (blinds are 200/400) i re-raise another 4K to isolate but the button calls..flop is all rags i shove and he folds, all-in catches a diamond on the river to make a flush and win the main pot...but i still pick up 8k and move to around 21k

After the break i have brain fart...i try to steal the blinds in early position with 10 8s as only half the table are present..but my 2K raise is called...i hit the flop but i check it only to see the other player raise to 5K, i think he has a pocket pair so i fold.....it was a bad play and should of bet big on the flop ...

Few hands later i get 55 and raise to 1800 ...this time the button re-raises me so i fold, 2 hands later on the button i have 22 and raise 2K only to see the BB shove for 5k more.. i can't let the stupid hand go and call..i was good until he spikes an A on the river and my 20K is now 7.5K....

The table is broken up ...and within 5 hands i am out with AK vs JJ and another player had raised the pot 3.5, he folded atfer i shoved 10K and then got a call from the player next to me....

Steve Found is up to 30k, and Lou is holding her own, James is out and Rich went just after the break.

Thats about it ...no more tournaments..maybe one last throw of the $1/2 tomorrow but its been a disapointing week of tournaments.. i don't seem to be able to win those important races when i am in a great position....but i guess its more than made up for the cash games which have been very productive this week

This could be a reason why your bad at MTT's

QQ vs 99 is not a race!! 80% to win hmmmmmmmmmmm interesting

Sorry to disapoint...but my trip report was just a small blog of playing the festival events and cash games in Vegas while i was here...As you can see i did not play in the WSOP so that was the reason for the lack of report and with players spread all around Vegas in different hotels and doing there own thing, it was not going to be possible to write any kind of report.....

maybe when i get home i will try and get a players persective on their WSOP experience and write it up in the forum.
