Default Las Vegas 2008 TRAVEL INFO

I thought it would be a good time to put a thread up regarding our planned visit to Las Vegas in June 2008

Players who have qualified or even players who want to come out and join in the fun these are the dates i have planned.

I would suggest to all players to start looking at flights and accommodation as prices do increase due to the fact the WSOP is in town.

Anyone who finds some good deals maybe could post in the thread to let us know.

Tournament is on the Monday 30th June and will run for 3 days.

I will be flying out on Tuesday 24th June....

I will once again book to stay at the 'Gold Coast Casino' reason for this its right next to the Rio and in a very good position to reach the strip even though its not the best Hotel on or near the strip its price is very reasonable.

Hotel seems good Mike, though it is a bit annoying the rooms are twice the price at weekends. It's obviously popular then!

Any idea how much flights should cost and where is best to fly from? At the moment you could fly direct from Gatwick for less than £600 return with Virgin. Not sure if this is good or bad. There are ceratinly cheaper deals but they add 6 - 10 hours per journey because you have to make a stop.

One last question, with regard to the expenses money... if we are booking flights etc. individually how do we go about getting it?

Thanks a lot

Ian

Here are some prices for one stop flights that i have found

Flying out on the 26th June

Cheap Flights - Compare prices on cheap flights

DELTA
--- GBP 430.30
Continental Airlines
--- GBP 460.10
United
--- GBP 463.40
Northwest Airlines
--- GBP 468.20
American Airlines
--- GBP 470.40

Direct flights by Virgin really depends on the day that you leave...it seems better if you leave on the 25th

Cost of Direct Flight out on the Wednesday 25th and coming home on the following wednesday/Thursday is £460.25

If you flyout on the Thursday 26th Come home on the following Thursday/Friday £544.20/559.20 Almost a £100 more!

I only tend to travel with Virgin to LV as they go direct and I like the service, but if you're looking for cheaper flights then this site

Special Offers

is offering flights with North West Airlines from £292...(one or two changes I believe) I think the dates you're looking for are about £340 return.

Hope this helps.

I'm planning my trip to Vegas at the moment too and might play event 52 i.e. The $1.5k NL on the 30th. Looking to play the $1.5k PLO8B Event 43 on the 24th as well.

Hi Jason

I believe Paul Garfield is on the same flight, and Steve Found i know was looking at this one.

I now see that flight only has an 90min lay over in New York, lets hope your Heathrow flight is not delayed lol!

the site btw is Book cheap flights, hotels, car rental, city breaks*and package holidays with Opodo
