Proposed -Bonus Points Reward Scheme

After much discussion and debating on the forum, it has been brought to my attention that the league needs to have some kind of incentive for the nightly players who want something else away from the monthly finals to focus their attention on, and hopefully encourage players to play more and dare i say it.... play better in some cases! lol

As already mentioned on the Forum, we could maybe achieve this with a points/prize system

Nightly winning players who score over 500pts will have the additional points added to their very own "points Reward Scheme" to be kept and displayed in their player profile.

Players who reach 600pts will win a Gold Card protector *Changed**

Players who reach 1200pts will win a exclusive Poker.co.uk Live Poker League Baseball Hat

Players who reach 1800pts will win a exclusive Poker.co.uk Live poker League T-shirt

Then there will be bigger prizes for players who reach 3000pts and 5000pts


Proposed Scheme will start in March 2008......

Sounds like a good idea, but dare I to ask how long this will last for?

I mean I have been around playing in the league for a few years now and I won my bronze Card protector and then I think I had to get 5 games won to get the silver which I never recieved and well the Gold Card protector can only be got some random way and as I do not play online poker there does seem less to play for than ever.

So I mean will the "Prizes" Run out once too many people get winning, or will it be that by April the boundaries will have moved so it ends up 5000 for a gold Card protector, 10,000 for a hat etc?

I am all for the league as I do not gamble its a great way for me to play a game which i enjoy. But even with this added prizes is playing with 12-16 players a good night out?! Surely if i played everynight (which i dont) with so little competition it is still likely that people will gather points very quickly.

In reply to lorraine's comment, I think mike has set the bar quite high here and it will certainly be a while before these prizes are claimed. firstly you have to win a game with more than 10 runners to actually get any LPL reward points. you would have to win 10 games (with 20 runners) to get the first prize. It would take walt and dave only 6 months to do that, but then that would be a great reward for thier contribution to the league.

I agree! I think it is great that theses things are being brought in.
The League can now move another step forward.
Also absolutely Dave and Walter and others definately deserve alot more appreciation than they currently recieve. The League would not be the same without them and over the years the tips and their skill have helped me improve my game! (slightly!) lol

Also your post above highlighted an error in my calculations as i wanted the Gold available after 5-6 wins

So the points should read

-----600pts Gold
-----1200pts for a baseball cap
-----1800pts for a t-shirt etc

I think maybe that would be a better format
