Default Tail wags Dog

Centre of the Poker Universe
Tail Wags Dog.
The LPL in Manchester is made up of about 500 + active players per week. These good souls go to one of our venues ultimately for a game of live poker.
By frequenting these venues the pubs make money and so the cycle goes on
More players more venues more / bigger prizes.
Logical to you and me, or so you would have thought.
Some people are of the opinion that they can sit at home 6 nights a week, play different leagues and then complain they can’t win because some players like to play / have to play 5 – 6 times a week. These unnamed people whinge that the likes of Dave H & Walt play almost every night. What they fail to recognise is if it wasn,t for these people the league would not exist. Walter and dave travel miles to the “ four corners of the globe” to support and grow smaller venues where the play is abysmal and an ace pre flop is Godlike and should be played to the river
How can you tell what someone is playing with if they don,t know themselves?
These venues progress, play gets better, some of the locals move around the Circuit and are an asset to our league. The only time you see one of the whingers at these venues is when they are scratching around at the end of the month for points. Don’t get me wrong there needs to be a rewards structure for the occasional player that cannot do the rounds (Tony one leg suggested going back to the card covers, which if economical would be a good idea – ideally anything that reflects some ones status as a WINNER would be welcome).
As for the whingers in the words of Norman Tebbit GET ON YOUR BIKE.
Mike Good proved that with a little bit of effort the league title is not impossible to win. The Best averages over six games will make it harder because Dave and Walt Can win 6 games a month without breaking Sweat. The only way to win is for you to get out there and beat Walter and Dave. To hear most of you talk you’re better players anyway PROVE IT
Stop trying to get maximum return for minimal effort
Support The League
Support Manchester
And most of all support the Venues for ultimately they are Paying !

have you not read the entire thread 'Best Score in a month'?

These unnamed people whinge that the likes of Dave H & Walt play almost every night.

Nobody is whinging they play every night, its more to do with a better league structure to find out who is rightfully the best player of the month. Dave & Walt at Tournemount Directors, they have to be there at the venues and get paid to be!!!

What they fail to recognise is if it wasn,t for these people the league would not exist. Walter and dave travel miles to the “ four corners of the globe”

Well yeah, thats what the agreed to do as TD's but no one hasnt failed to recognise this that im aware of!

The only time you see one of the whingers at these venues is when they are scratching around at the end of the month for points.

I dont think you can call any of the people involved in that thread a whinger, one example, Burkey, you might see him scratching, but it wont be at the end of the month for points, i think the stats he posted of his games proves that!!!

Well thats my rant over with!!!!

I'm starting to think that Asslicker is missing the point!

Nobody is calling Dave and Walt for their efforts, We are just trying to get some spark back into the league and give people the chance to win something.

take myself as an example - I play 3 times a week - Sun (stockport) Tues (middleton) and Weds (Denton), I live in Saddleworth so its over 20 mins to all the venues, so I support the league as much as anyone else except the already mentioned people.

But I still have no chance of winning anything and as I go 3 times a week I could go all in first hand every time and lose and still make the points, i.e. qualify for the finals.

In the 3 month final thing, I had qualified after the first month so had very little to play for in the remaining 2 months.

All Im trying to say is that it would be good for the people who play 3-4 times a week to have something to play for.

Who's with me?

2546 pts did not qualify you after the first month...you would of needed just under 5000 in points, in fact at the end of the second month you only just made it..

Maybe answer these two for me....

Have you qualified for the Main Event seat Final in Birmingham, as i don't see your name on the list?
Have you won the National Average Leaderboard trophy yet?

No your right..what am i thinking...a league without prizes doh!

Maybe its better if i turn it around and ask you Chris what exactly do you want to win?

Calm down!!

Your missing the point! I hadn't technically qualified after the first month but lets face it, I was never not going to miss out.

I have qualified online as well.

All I was saying was please could we have some way for a fair system were ppl who play 2-5 times a week have something to play for!

National Average leaderboard leads to people sitting on their scores and not playing!

can't find the icon for banging my head against a brick wall..lol

Why does it always have to be about winning something, isn't it enough at the end of the month you get to go to a finals day to play for £££ and a sheild that you can keep to show of your achievements for a month, but more to the point of the social aspect of playing and having fun, a little banter having a drink and at the end of the evening coming home thinking what a cracking night....

And you didn't answer the question what exactly did you want to win?

I think he just means the league in general, not so much a specific prize?
