Default Inter-Pub -Cup QUALIFIERS!

Congratulations to Frames in W-S-M & The Crown in Bristol who become our first qualifiers to the Inter-Pub-Cup Final.

Frames who came off the first stage with the least amount of chips, forged a stunning comeback to capture one of the seats to Finals day.

Crown one of my top picks didn't let me down as they played solid poker throughout the day and once they had won a huge hand when AA vs KK late into the tourney the Crown never looked backed.

The Clyde Arms one of the favorites fell in third place.

Thanks to Chris at the Balmoral for hosting and putting on a great event.

Congratulations to Frames and the Crown!

Winning Crown Team.

I think the Crown should be disqualified on account of Carl's pathetic cheering.

Well done guys... now we just need a Bristol team to win the whole thing.

We now have another two qualifiers into the Inter-Pub-Cup - The Crown in Bristol hosted the qualifiers this past sunday once again last minute drop outs reduce the field to six teams, but this would not take away the fierce rivalry from each of the pub teams who all wanted to clinch those two qualifying positions.

One of the shocks of the day were my hot pick 'Filo's' of Bath who went out in last place, after a disappointing single table matches.

Poker.co.uk Cyber pub team fell at the final hurdle in third place, but could count themselves unlucky when our resident pro Matt Dale had the final in his sights after getting a allin call from the white Lion team who held 99 vs QQ
a 9 on the flop and the rest is history.

Congratulations to the Balmoral in W-S-M and one of our new pubs the White Lion of Yate who both move forward to the final

BALMORAL WINNING TEAM

WHITE LION WINNING TEAM

Final is being provisonally booked for the first week in August.

Get some pies shipped in, us northerners are coming down...

First off, a hearty congratulations to The Queens for finishing top of the pile at yesterday's final. Despite being hampered by a slightly below par starting stack, they pretty much battered the final table, and thoroughly deserved their victory. The bastards.

I hear they're putting sparkly new shoes on the horses and buffing up their cart wheels as I type, and will be setting off from Tyldesley this weekend. Eeeeh, the old jokes are the best...

The other qualifiers came from Stockport's finest about-to-close pub, the Bishop's Blaize (or whatever the fück it's called). Personally, I think their captain was shït-hot, especially as 7 (SEVEN) of the team had dropped out five minutes prior to kick-off.

Bram, Texas Rick, Steve, Photo Dave, Young Chris, Damo and Legend John, I salute you.

Oh, special mention to Dave T for running it, having unbridled patience, and putting up with all the nonsense which has been thrown at him the past couple of weeks.

Congrats to the Englishcombe from Bath, and the Bristol Pub Team from erm, Bristol i think, who qualified yesterday at the New Inn, Dursley.

An other eventful day saw a player being forced to leave the pub and the organiser being threatened to join him, due to a decision being made that was not to the landlords liking. Unacceptable really when the landlord and his family get personal about a decision involving his pub team, but the New Inn is under new management from today I believe, so its all good.

The Bristol team were short stacked getting to the final table, so well done for making it through, and Im also pleased for the Bath team, managing to qualify despite the issues at hand what with the landlord making a personal vendetta against a player etc.

To those who carried on making a big issue out of nothing, try to remember that it's meant to be a bit of fun, you havent invested your savings, house or car keys in the game, its provided for you FOR FREE to take part in, and at the end of the day the ref's decision had been made, accept it and get on with your lives. Good day. Actually, talking of lives, life is too short to be stressed out over such minor things, chillax ffs.

On a lighter note, nice to see some familiar faces and meet some new players, always a pleasure, especially the drunk ones (heck even I've been the poker drunk on more than one occasion ) Oh I nealy forgot, thanks to the Bush team for providing the entertainment in the evening, in the form of Naked Karaoke. you really had to be there... what a day
See you all on the circuit!

P.S. People ask about my avatar pic....if you were there yesterday you'd have probably seen it for real

In the landlords defence I used the f word.

In my defence he said he was never wrong...ever. Turns out he was, nh gg wp, you know the rest.

Thanks to the rest of the Bath team (and those from the Bristol team - the loud ones) for sticking up for me, I needed it at the time.

It was an 'interesting' atmosphere to say the least but that's why god made ipods.

Lol drunkaments

Oh forgot also thanks to Paul the TD for making a decision that was a 'sensible' one in my opinion.
It was my fourth raise in a row yet only now was my betting 'technique'(I threw all my chips in one fluid motion, betting 850 - a tri colour bet, not just an oversized chip) being questioned. The lady to my left, Charlotte i believe, was certainly entitled to question it as one of the plights of the LPL is that different pubs have different interpretation of the rules, but why not question it the first time i raised?

Anyway water under the bridge, bring on the final.
