May Finals The Bush in Bristol hosted the monthly Finals, 75 players came together from all 6 regions to battle it out for £1,000 in prizes and the coverted winners shield. ![]() Tom Stuart-Fielding from the Clyde Pub in Bristol held his nerve in a tense heads up battle with previous winner Phil Sandles from Bath when Tom's AK beat Phil's pocket 5's Final Table 1st Tom Stuart-Fielding Bristol 2nd Phil Sandles Bath 3rd Andy Harker Gloucester 4th Adie Mutlow Bath 5th Ray Holder W-S-M 6th Pete Kelloway Bristol 7th Selina Arnall Bath 8th Louise Cuthbertson Bath Final table was a whois who of past winners as Phil Sandles, Adie Mutlow and last months winner Pete Kelloway who suffered a terrible bad beat to finish 6th took up 3 seats at the final table which is quite an achievement in a field of 75 players. Winner Tom Stuart-Fielding ![]() In fact in the last 5 Finals two pubs have shared the Sheild 'Filo's of Bath and 'The Clyde' of Bristol and with the 'Inter-Pub-Cup' just around the corner these two pubs will be firm favorites to lift the title! On another note it was great to see Weston player Ray Holder back on form and sitting at the Final table after suffering from a stroke last month..good to see you looking well and on the road to recovery. |

Thanks alot to Mike for organising the day, it was a lot of fun. Heads-up against Phil was a quality game - there wasn't much pre-flop pushing and for once we got to see some boards. It would have been fantastic to have won when he raised triple big blind pre-flop and I (arguably stupidly) called with 62off only for the flop to be 622 - alas he wouldn't fall in to my trap - instead a few hands later I had to catch a King on the turn after I called his pre-flop all-in.
