Several threads have disapperead from this forum.
All of them are from us who had something negative to say about the weekend. So Mike, stop deleting our threads you forum nazi, and give us the some well deserved answers. After all you may run the league, but we make it. Last edited by The Hat : 23rd January 2007 at 07:30 AM. |

No, he deletes threads where people talk fcuking shite!!!!
I can't believe what a whinging fcuker you are!!!! Yes, the venue had a few problems, But have you got to then whinge and whine and type shite onto the forum just because someone didn't make you a roast dinner and they 'forced' you to pay £1 to play in an STT!!! You were playing for a seat the wsop ffs, if that isn't enough to stop the whining then fcuking stay home!!!! A large number of other people - (apart from you obviously)think that Mike and Wobble did a great job of organising the event, with Mike negotiating the use of the facilities on the Saturday evening - when the venue already had two functions on!!! Maybe the venue wasn't what you were expecting, I think we were all expecting something slightly different. But is that a reason to come on here and talk absolute bollocks and slag people off? And then get pissy because it gets deleted!!! You whinge about the food - go to fecking McDonalds in the break then! You whine about paying £1 for the STT's - well that's just unbelievable. You call Wobble (the Manager) a load of evil names You call Mike a Nazi and slag him off because he gets rid of your 'rather nasty' and poorly written posts.... For fcuk sake...... Next time just don't bother turning up, you'd have a much better time staying at home being miserable.... and we can all have a decent game knowing that you aren't going to whinging about paying a pound for a game of poker!! |

I agree. I read the deleted posts and this is getting out of hand.
It's a free pub poker league not the World Poker Tour, what did people really expect. Yes there was fluff on the tables and the food was a bit crap, but so what. I thought the competition on the day was suberbly organised and ran by Mike and he deserves thanks not abuse for all his work. Would these people be saying the same thing if they had won the wsop seats, i think not. |

What i find quite funny is that you think you speak for the whole of Manchester Region, where in fact we have 3 or 4 players from Manchester who are just looking to cause a problem. Firstly i did not receive one single complaint from the South West Region during the whole 2 days i was there...in fact i tell a lie not really a complaint but a enquiry from one player who thought i short stacked him a 1000 in chip up...no fuss no tears excepted the explanation and got on with his game. Saturday nite with the MTT not sure what the problem was except we started with 4000 chips instead of 5000 and the way a couple of players reacted you thought we were playing at the Main Event in Las Vegas, not a friendly small game where we could have a laugh and play a few hands ..i even put £50 into the pot of my own money... and the £1 was for the cleaning and use of the room....once again if you really thought starting with 1000 fewer chips was life threatning dont play!! i wasn't holding a gun to your head. The Main event as far as the venue went i thought the room was fine you had plently of space to move around, the tables were a good size maybe the cloth could of been clipped but really no big deal. The venue could of put on more staff and also the lack of food which i think was the main gripe of the day, which i did not have any control over..i was told there would be rolls and sandwiches which never appeared and that was disapointing ....when you play for the seat in Manchester i will charge £10 per player and i will make sure that you have some food hows that? Wooble who helped me get the venue was in control over all the side games, if you didn't want to pay the £1 then don't play, you play with his chips use his cards abide by his rules its that easy. once again it was only a select few towards the end of the day that wanted to make an issue out of it. there is no doubt if we held another large event i would maybe do things diferently but seeing as this was my first event i was more than happy with the way it went the most important part was the the tournament ran without a hitch, i think that i achieved this, so excuse me if i get a little upset when i get a few forum morons out to cause trouble after i put up 3 WSOP seats and a addtional prize fund of £2,000...and all this for free!! Towards the end of the night i was called a C**t told to piss off and had a box full of chips stolen by some Manchester player...But in no way does this reflect on the majority of Manchester players who came down had some fun and had a very enjoyable day. PS next time you want to post some crap maybe at least sign your name so i know who i am talking to. Regards Mike Chapman Last edited by LPL_Mike : 23rd January 2007 at 10:44 AM. |

Agree with everything you said Mike. I think I can speak for the majority of people from the Southwest when I say thanks (and to Matt D as well)!!
For putting up the 3 seats to the wsop, for organising the extra game on Saturday evening and for the smooth running of the main event on the Sunday. To the person who felt they needed to take the chip set home with them - have some dignity and give it back!! It takes a total lowlife to steal from a FREE Poker League.... |

I have replied to Mike by pm.
For the record, despite the impression the above posts may give, I made no personal criticism of Mike or the event. Had you been allowed to read my post you would have seen that. My criticisms were of the choice and location of the venue and then of the censorship of said criticism. I saw no outright hostility in the original posts. Regards Mick Davies. |

This is a stupid thread.
100% well done Mike and team for an excellent event. I can't wait until the next one. The fluff helped one of our Bristol team do well; it was his ball of light. Markkkkkkky. McDonalds was kindly supplied by someone I didn't know who offered to go. Beer was cold and the venue accomodating. It cost me £6 to win £25 so I'm not complaining about having to pay £1. Only the losers would complain about that. What the hell more do you want.??? Onya Mike. See you on the 18th February.Dru. |

Only what was promised, nothing more. A venue that justified the 7 hour round trip, the cost of 2 nights in a hotel, a days leave from work, decent side games, and some food would have been nice. No, not much really. Freedom of speach wasnt promised, but was foolishly taken as a given. |

"What i find quite funny is that you think you speak for the whole of Manchester Region, where in fact we have 3 or 4 players from Manchester who are just looking to cause a problem"
posted by LPL Mike First of all I never once said I was speaking for anyone but myself. "You whinge about the food - go to fecking McDonalds in the break then!" Posted by Alex B "when you play for the seat in Manchester i will charge £10 per player and i will make sure that you have some food hows that?" Posted by LPL Mike I didn't say a fecking thing about food "I agree. I read the deleted posts and this is getting out of hand. It's a free pub poker league" Posted by Bigbeam Over £60 in petrol plus hotel costs, because it was held so far from Manchester and on a Sunday! "Firstly i did not receive one single complaint from the South West Region" Posted by LPL Mike That's because it was on ther fucking doorstep in comparison "The Main event as far as the venue went i thought the room was fine" The room was ok, but nothing special , and nothing that couldn't have been half way. "Wooble who helped me get the venue was in control over all the side games, if you didn't want to pay the £1 then don't play, you play with his chips use his cards abide by his rules its that easy" Posted by LPL Mike Finally an explanation to who wobble is. You already know how I feel about the venue and loation, and the league has it's own chips and cards Mike. Finally at the very first thread I closed by saying despite everything I did have a good time. but that's only because I fucking love poker. The quality of play was excellent, and I commented to my fellow players that i would play in the rain in a dark pub car park. Next time please make it a more fair location, and use decent tables, it does effect the game. Max O'Neill Ran three venues for the LPL in Manchester. |

As the missus has had her two penneth thought i'd throw my hat in the ring too!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and thought that it was really well organised and ran very smoothly considering the number of people there. Well done Mike and thanks. I made about £100 in the side games over the weekend, which covered our hotel and petrol so happy days! The atmosphere was superb for the final table with some great railing from all regions and even the mancs singing their little socks off for Tony. That's what this league is all about IMO, and we have 3 great players going to Vegas to represent the LPL, and have a shot at achieving something that they would probably only have otherwise dreamed about. That's what we all went for, at the end of the day. As for the moaning about the £1 entry fee's...WTF!!!!!! Are you guys trying to tell me that...a) you don't play online STT's or b) you do and you email the poker sites demanding your $ back.....????? Get bent. Get a life. Get out of Poker. The guy has to make a day's wage and he did a bloody good job of organising it, supplying the materials, and preventing any nonsense arising from people not paying their stake/arguing over payouts/money "disappearing" from the pool. Congratulations to all those who placed, and a hex on the guy that knocked me out! Dan B |
