The League is ONE year old today....

it only seems like yesterday that i was passing a Bar in St Louis Missouri when i saw the banner ' NL Texas Hold'em Play Here' and i did!..over the next 3 months and more.... of playing in the States, making friends and having a blast..i decided when it was time to leave i would bring the concept back to the UK!

The first event drew a huge crowd of nine players ..but the next night at the Assembly Inn 33 players turned up to play, thats the day i realised that this actually might work..now a year down the road and what better way to celebrate but to offer 3 seats to the WSOP!

I would also like to thank the team at Poker.co.uk ..thats Matt 'the pro' Dale who was the first to show an interest in my idea and make it work into something that has delvolped and grown over the year.

James for all his help with the art work and design of the web page, Jamie for the web page and a very user friendly admin system which without it i would of thrown my pc out of the window in frustration! ...if it wasn't for these guys i really don't believe that the League would be where it is today ...so thanks!

Also a mention to Nic Russell who has been running the Manchester Region since the start and has been doing a great job, unfortunately Nic is leaving the team at the end of August to travel, so i wish him all the best and thank him for all his hard work.

Not forgetting the tournament organizers who for very little reward, every evening set up and run these events for all you guys to enjoy, and i sometimes think that we forget the effort these guys put in, so next time your at an event let them know you appreciate there involvement, time and effort.

And of course to all the players that turn up and support the league ..... Thank you

9? there was more than that wasnt there? Maybe it wasnt the first game that i went to then?! It was the beehive for me and it was a bloody good laugh down there.

Alex and I remember that 1st night at the Assembly as we'd turned up the week before to find out it had been postponed for a week!

But all was forgiven the following week when we had a great night playing poker and drinking beer!!

Still can't believe you talked us into running it twice a week. I must have had a few Carlsberg's that night......

I hereby announce my unmitigated assault on the Bath league and claim my rightful place on that plane next year..

Thought this was an appropiate thread to mention this.....

I havent played an LPL games for months and months! And since the start of the WSOP promo decided to go back and use this as my freeroll sat..... anyhow....

I have to say i was impressed with the new blind structure and also the new points system... so after a year there is already vast improvment in the brand... onwards and upwards!
