Blind Levels:

25-50 -20mins levels
50-100
75-150

100-200 -15mins levels
150-300
200-400
300-600 -2 Hours
400-800
600-1200
800-1600
1200-2400 -3 Hours

CHIP UP

1500 - 3000-10 mins levels
3000 - 6000
5000- 10000

We have made a slight adjustment to the orignal that was posted, which i have to thank Nick for from Bath who has been helping running some new levels for me.
This blind level if works allows players a lot more scope in the middle of the game to be able to play some cards rather than the all in fest that has been happening....you will also notice that we will only have one chip up from now on, and this will occur much later in the game.

By adding the first 3 levels at 20 minutes gives people a chance to settle into the game, and the last 3 or 4 levels will run at 10 minutes which should suit the game as only a handful of players will be left so more hands will be seen.

We will run this for the month and gauge peoples reactions, if players hate it i will revert back to the old system

Yep, that sounds a million times better. The jump from 200/400 to 500/1000 is way too much, and the later chip up will be much appreciated from me as I always go mysteriously crap after it...

I liked last night's blinds at Filo's a lot more than Thursday's at the Assembly, and not just because I won It definitely allows for more poker and less bingo.

The only problem I can see is that if we're not doing chip up until way into the evening then it means that if Dan and I are both still in at final table (which does happen on frequent occasions, then we're not going to be able to sort all the chips out until after the poker ends, and that is going to add half an hour to the end of the night for us.

It never finishes until 11.20pm as it is, I'm sure Rich (the landlord) doesn't want us there for another 20 minutes/half an hour sorting out the chips at the end of the evening. i know I don't want to be there until almost 12 midnight.

Mike, I agree about the blinds, the new structure looks good, but in my (probably selfish view) we need to be able to chip up before 10.30pm.

Well, we could have substantially chipped up after an hour and a half to get rid of all the reds and whites, which aren't needed after the 150/300 blind, for blues and greens (just leave everyone 10 or 15 greens max). I'd have thought that would save most of the extra time.

Alex i understand where ur coming from...but you have some options:

A if your still both playing ask someone to help, normally your find one person willing to help out.
B: take the box home with you or i know that sometimes you both get to the venue early maybe you could do it then?...less time in the bar more time working lol

I was thinking about that myself Stu and have to agree with you. I think we'll still chip up the blues and whites when they're no longer required.

We don't get there until 6pm from work and have to get something to eat (as we don't have time to go home first), so by the time the food has arrived and we've eaten, we then go straight down stairs to start setting up..... We don't stay in the bar drinking.

I think we'll give it a go tomorrow night.

played the new blind system last night for the first time and thought it was very good. Especially when it went to 1200/2400 and everyone was letting me steal their blinds. I went from a just above average stack to quite large. There's a lot to steal !!!! All in all it gave a lot more room for play which personally I love. I had nothing last night for the first hour of the game and basically blinded half my stack away. If it had been the old structure I would've had to gamble a lot but as it was I had the time and inclination to play myself out of trouble once my hands improved above 9 high !!!

We played the new system last night in WSM and it was definitely not a success. Smaller blinds encourage more play, which in turn allows for more betting. The bigger blind levels meant more cautious play, and as a reult the first game over ran by half an hour, and when I left the second game at 12.30 there were still eight players left. God knows how long it went on for.

That said, the etiquette was simply divine...

The new system worked very well Mike. Although people were complaining last night about some of the new levels lol...

"1500/3000 Blinds, what the hell! Its eating my stack, we want the old system back..."

So to shut them the hell up I said,

"you want the old system? Fine, blinds are now 5000/10000"

That worked. (of course I didnt actually revert to the old system, I was just pointing out the difference, being 10.30 the game was usually done by then in the Royal Oak. Theyre not used to it lasting until 10.50! After losing 8 players on the first few hands (lol) it looked like the game would be done early, but the smoother blind levels allowed for more play and it didnt blind people out so quickly.)

I havent heard a single complaint about a large hike up from 200/400 to 500/1000 or similar like I used to hear just about every night. I know its only early days, but it does seem to work better on first impressions.
