    Question Problems With This Forum

Has anyone else had problems using this forum within the last couple of days or so? Everytime I tried to get in all I got was a message saying "Error 509 - Bandwidth Limit exceeded". Hopefully it is now sorted out for good.

The forum has been down for the last five days with this "Bandwidth" problem again. Most annoying!

I think there was a late surge of ALL TYPES of spam. That is what caused the forum to crash for the last five days IMO. If you go to the forum's home page & scroll down to the bottom you will see dozens sometimes more spammers all lurking about on the forum in a very spammy way. They all have zero posts & names which make no sense at all. You know the ones I mean. I am sure they can communicate with each other. They are all sitting just waiting for the right moment to spam. When they all try to spam at the same time it causes the forum to crash owing to insuficient bandwidth being available to handle all the crap at once. That is my theory anyhow. ALL zero posting users with a nonsense name should be deleted by Admin as soon as is possible. That is my New Year Wish.I would do it myself if I could.

agreed.its getting beyond a joke.maybe by removing all spammy type events in the vbookies and like i said earlier if all 'posts' by new members i.e.those with less than say 5 total posts, have to go through a moderation process i think it would deal with the problem......

It is a total joke. The only reason there are spammy type events run is to try to get back at those B******S. They MISUSE our forum for their own purposes so I abuse them by making them the subject of betting events. Anyway Christmas is passed so there will be no more "spammy specials" in the V Bookies for a good while. Except of course Spammers Graveyard 2012.

The first thing needing done to get the forum fixed is without a doubt for Admin or someone else who has the powers to go through the members list & delete all the spammers which stick out like a sore thumb. Then higher security measures need to be employed to stop the bots from signing up again. This is possible. On another forum which I am a member of you have to go through a "security bot" to join up. It sniffs out & deletes spammers automatically. A feature like that is needed here.
