kk, i totally understand your worries over placing high roller bets, but trust me, as long as you time it right you should come out on top. so when you see a nice horse hit that shit with all your wallet

One problem I had with horses, or any betting come to that, is that I seem to have this mental block which stops me placing any really big bets.
Even when I was doing my horse 'system' the biggest bet I ever placed was about £60 - and that sent shivers down my spine even though it was coming out of my 'float' of about £400 profit from earlier bets!
Online I rarely bet more than $10/hand at cards because I'm always scared of losing.

So in a way I'm not a very good gambler because I don't take any big risks, but maybe that's a good thing actually... Small risks, moderate profits, big smile!

KK, with horse racing, you have to be prepared for the losing runs. No matter how good your selection process is, you will always run into a losing run.

Even if you're only backing fancied runners you can still rack up a 10 losing run so you have to be prepared for that and be able to handle it.

So I wouldn't agree with Beat the Bookie when he says 'hit that shit with all your wallet'!!

I only play £10 per stake but my selections can be any price range which means I am prepared for a losing run when it comes by only doing £10 stakes.

I just simply wouldn't feel comfortable doing £40-£50 stakes because even though I'm confident I'll win out in the long term, it is still doesn't feel comfortable when things aren't going your way. Maybe afew more months down the line with the turf coming up, I may increase the stakes, but as I stand, £10 a bet is fine by me

yeh well, everyone has there opinion, it doesnt matter what your stake is really, but when i said hit that shit with all your walleti do consider that i good piece of advice. there are times when i spot a couple of sorts usually a double and i will stake about £50. imo when you spot a 2 horses which are in a field they really should beat then the odd will be around evens if your lucky, so thats when i pull out the big bucks. this method has surved me very well over the last few years. i guess what your stake is would be determined by what job you do in the meantime. i earn a comfortable wage, this means that when i go on a long losing streak i dont panic.

Yeah of course, it is all to do with bankroll. I do £10 level stakes, but my betting account could in theory survive a 1,700 losing run at £10 per bet!! It is just what you feel comfortable betting and £10 level stakes does me. I average around 4 to 5 bets per day, somtimes more sometimes less depending on the number of qualifiers.

It isn't a system as such, I have a set criteria at first which limits the field, then decide from my own experience if there is a bet on.

I work mainly from stats, if you follow form too much you are never going to get value from horse racing because everyone can see the form etc. But then I'm sure there are people who can make studying form pay off.

I wouldn't divulge too much of my selection process to be honest though a1 as I'm a firm believer you should hold onto anything you've got to maintain the edge over everyone else!

Hi there, I have done very little gambling online, my favorite is roulette. just a game of luck imo!

Does anyone actually make an small income from it or anything, i have tried a little but with no real luck, read a few articles and books and stuff, but with no reel sucess.

I've won some and lost some. I don't think gambling is a way to make money as people think. At the end, you'll be lucky if you break even. I don't gamble as much anymore. Instead, I do online investments now. With that, I don't have alot of time to gamble which is actually good for my wallet/purse.

I completely agree. My dad was a bad gamble. Great awesome intelligent business man, just had a gambling addition that tore the family apart. We went from riches to rags in a very short period of time. If it was for my very intelligent mom who was hiding money from my dad, we'd probably lost everything.

I honestly agree with you SC, and I would just like to express my own opinion after reading the whole thread.

I think it's so dangerous to earn $20k and continue gambling afterwards when the betting here isn't even sportsbetting or something involves judgment as someone mentioned, but it is totally based on luck!!

I don't know about you KK, but it scares me, and as someone mentioned the whole time and energy you invested on this - I don't know man, If I were you I would afraid to go on with something like this, it's totally freaky because the money you're earning here doesn't come from your own judgment or maybe in some point it is, but the main idea of the slots or the casino is that everything is based on luck.

In my opinion, gambling should never, never take a part in your life. It could be a habit when you're bored but you must control yourself and don't go crazy with it.

Also I think sportsbetting, horse-racing and stuff like that which involves your own judgment is better because luck is the 2nd role-playing here.

I find that people become addicted to gambling due to hunger for earning money. Since I've started investment, it's taken my time from gambling. My investment is doing very well and I am very happy with it. Therefore, I don't gamble as much and is earning lots of money from my investment which is satisfying to me. When I started introducing my dad to investing his funds instead of gambling, he too has focus most of his attention on investing and finding great investment. So, it appears that it is satisfying my dad's hunger for gambling. KK, maybe you should try that. Get into some investment that will take up your gambling time. The odds are alot better than gambling.
