placing selections

just as a bit of fun im going to try my hand at picking out horses likely to place.ive more or less given up on the lay system,its too time consuming,and to be honest its not really doing much still,add to that the confusion of races with no history....its no fun anymore.
a while ago i was picking out PLACE bets and i think i hit like 8 in a row until i started doing the lay bet thing,which took all my attention.so i reckon i could do worse than try to pick some likely horses that will at least finish in the top 3...

tomorrows racing doesnt give much in the way of definite placers.
the best i could come up with were
south 2.25 sunny side up
south 3.25 ecossaise(although its a maiden and i tend to avoid those kinds of races)
leic 3.40 playing with fire.(although its been 45 days since his last run).

so really not a lot of solid form in those selections.but believe me they are the best picks in the smaller(8-10) fields which i look for value betting.

1.00 fairy(IRE) that'll do me,although our monty deserves a mention(he hasnt raced for 787 days though and this counts against him)

theres a couple of lesser ones too

the top 3 i have little doubt they will be there or thereabouts,the latter 2 there is some doubt.i may discard 1 or 2 of the races later on but we will see.

there is little value to be had in any selection going off below 1.3,therefore i use that mark as the lowest sp.we will see just how good my selection process is over time.

nothing.there werent any selections today either(only 2 meets).this is to hopefully replace the laying system and its getting my eye in for what im hoping will turn into a 10 or even 20 leg accumulator once ive got my eye in as it were.
scratch one of the picks by the way.bishophill jack was a chancy selection at best,and im withdrawing it.gold tobougg is also a bit chancy but ill leave it in for now.the other 3 look pretty rock solid in my humble opinion.

its tricky to make a solid case for anything in the 8-10 fields tomorrow,but ive struggled to come up with 3 selections.

4.45 pearl rebel.(with only 1 run its hard to know exactly,but his 1 run he looked really strong,so hopefully should be there or thereabouts)
