    Question Help with bet cover

    Hi folks

I hope I'm asking this question in the correct section. apologies if not.
I have a £50 pound bet on Andy Murray, to win the French open, at 20/1, I have another £10 at 29/1 and another £10 at 27/1.

His price has dropped considerably since Nadal's demise, I was thinking of laying him with Betfair to guarantee a profit. What is the best way to do this, and what stakes should I use?

Thanking anyone in anticipation of an answer.

    Cheers

Obviously with Murray's exit yesterday, this advice comes a little too late to be useful in this case, but hopefully it will serve you well in the future.

Above is an example of a successful trade from Betfair's education page. Had you placed a lay bet on Murray for £70, you would have put yourself into a position where your initial stake was returned to you. You would have won money if Murray had won the French Open, but not lost anything if he didn't.

If you placed a lay bet of over £70, you would have guaranteed yourself a profit, whoever won the French Open. Without knowing the price that Murray had dropped to, then it's impossible to say how much you would have had to lay, to guarantee for example, that you would win the same amount of money, whoever won the tournament.

It would have been quite simple for you to establish though. By just clicking on the Lay button for Murray, you could have experimented with putting different figures in the Backer's Stake section. Each time you entered a figure, it would have shown you how much you would have won on Murray and the other players left in the tournament.
