Okay, I'm really not familiar so much with Golf so I'd like to ask for your opinion about this.
Today is the last day of the 136th Championship and the leader right now is Sergio Garcia.
What do you think about betting on Garcia to finish in one of the first 3 places (doesn't matter which) for odds of 1.20?
Do you see it a banker or as a risk?
Thanks

hello aries.
do u know when this tournment will be ended?
thanks
Well he finished 2nd so now it looked like a value bet, but easy to say with the benefit of hindsight
I'm not a golf expert, but it all depends on whether the 1.12 (not 1.20- 1/5 of the odds of 1.60 is 1.12) would be value.
In the past, how many players in the lead on the last day have managed to mess up so badly that they finished out of the top 3? Without the previous years stats, I'd say the bet looks risky at 1.12, but can't say for sure.
BTW Arie, got a question for you
I posted a thread about in running a while back and came to the conclusion that big profits could be made on football matches if you could find games that you were sure at least 1 goal would be scored. So basically, we can't have the 0-0 score line.
Do you think you could confidently select matches were you felt it could never end without a goal? If so, there is an absolute fortune to be made in running![]()
If it was 1.20 to finish in the top 3 then i think it was value (hindsight I know is a wonderful thing), as he was 6 shots clear of 3rd at the start of the round.
But i don't think that was the bet - here you would be backing an 8/13 shot each-way - so although the place part is great - the fact that it is costing you a win stake means its not a great idea.
If its the place part you are after you want to be looking for a bookie that is offering that market, rather than backing each-way.
