Anyone got any tips for the world cup.....

Each ways outright to win it and reasons behind it, or any thing at all. Top goal scorer ??? etc etc

I personally fancy japan to top there group and 16/1 looks very nice.... They have had some good results off late and had the krauts on the back foot(brazil in there group but you never know)200/1 to win the cup 100/1 a place.

Czech republic each way to win is a good price, i remember baros and the like in last final(did i remember that right_ ,) gave it away didnt lose it.

Germany to be eliminated in group stages.....10/1 Betfair

England Sweden match to be drawn, assuming a draw suits both teams, though the price might be a bit tight.
In the last round of group matches there will almost certainly be some nailed on draws. Remember Sweden 2-2 Denmark in 2004 ? Italians will !!!!

And though I haven't seen them play I am guessing Angola are not going to be the strongest of opposition, so goals might flow in Group D as both Portugal and Mexico may well help themselves to more than a few. This group also has Iran in it so possibly back a Portugese forward for the Golden Boot.

And anyone who likes backing bookings here is a couple of refs who have potential to wave much red and yellow about:

On the cards total, I read a fifa directive 2 or 3 months ago that said shirt pulling was an automatic booking, so, if this is the case, keep an eye on the opening few matches because if it materialises then the bookings total will be high. Tread carefully though as it is not uncommon for a change in directives half way through where World Cup refereeing is concerned. I remember France 98, it was "lets not get too fruity with our cards lads" for half of the tourney, then, all of a sudden it was, "take as many names as you can". You have been warned.

As for the winners I really want to go dutch (at 17-1+) but the group they are in is scary (Argentina, Ivory Coast and Sebia & Mont) so just a medium investment there with a small saver on the spaniards.

And as for some laying, Id be tempted to take on the holders and the hosts

ive just been looking at the groups etc and it works out wed be better coming runners up in group B.
If the group results turn out true to form,and all the fav won there groups,England would play poland in the last 16 (thats if poland finished runners upin group A) its the quarter-finals where it gets interesting,where if the expected has happened well either play Portugal or Argentina,the other quarters would most likely be Germany vHolland,France v Italy,Brazil v Spain,which means if results go to form wed end up playing Brazil in the semis.Hopefully Rooneys fit by then.I think Adriano will be top scorer,dont what odds he is.

Luca Toni at 33/1 is a huge price.

Also i backed the czechs to win their group at 11/5, and i wish i hadnt, looking at their record against none european teams.

Another big earner could be group H, Spain are way underpriced, and if shevy and go get a decent run going i can see them beating Spain to top spot.

Also Tunisia are at nice odds to qualify from that group should the Ukraine flop.

Funny that Koller and Toni are mentioned as i have both these in my dreamteam. I fancy Toni for top goalscorer assuming Italy have a good tournament.

I think Germany will do well on home soil and i also think Holland will flop in the group stages! In fact thats my biggest tip, Holland out in the groups.
