Any one bet on snooker?
About 9 months ago I backed Ronnie O'Sullivan @ 11/4 on the basis that I did not think he would carry out his threat to go and play 9 ball, and that if he won a couple of this seasons ranking events he would be odds on when Crucible time came around and I could lay part of it back for a nice profit.
Well I was half right! He didn't turn his back on snooker, but has not had a good season.
He started the Championship at a best priced 7/2, but is now into 15/8
He is still in the toughest half of the draw despite Higgins being out and Hendry struggling.
There were massive doubts over which O'Sullivan will turn up this year, and whilst a thrashing of Dave Harold proves nothing if he can get past Williams in the quarter finals there will be no stopping him.
Dont know what odds your looking @ but ronnie's set at 2/1 now.Originally Posted by hyperman

Did you se Hendry go out in the last frame! Bond very nearly threw it away!

yeah poor safety from hendry in last shot...
At least he didn't run out crying as he has done in the past. (I don't like hendry because I remember him failing to shake someones hand after they humped him a few years ago.. In fact he just stormed out of the arena. lol)
True, but this is what creates characters?
Thing is, he's still the best player to ever pickup a cue to this day, regardless of 'how fast' or 'how good' ronnie and other current top players as higgins are playing.
He's got another 3 championship titles in him before he retires, btw did ya know Ian Mculloch plays at my private club, plus my brother in law is best mates with Stuart Pettman, its all good![]()

Unfortunately, if you weren't on pre the start of the tournament and he starts looking good then his price will plummet being in the "easier" half of the draw.
This year looks like another outsider to me with the only form player this season (higgins) underestimating his oppo and biting the dust early.
Well we are now down to the semis and O'Sullivan is still there and a heavy favourite.
Ebdon v Fu
O'Sullivan v Dott
Dott got off to a flyer a few years ago in the final against Ronnie but ran out of steam. I think the final everyone wants to see is Ebdon v Ronnie, after last years 'fun', would be very interesting to see how that panned out - although it may not be too interesting to actually watch it!
I hope Ebdon wins it this year.
