Anyone have a really fantastic soccer (ok, football, i'm a yank) betting story? Mine would have to be in the 2002 World Cup, first match - US vs Portugal.
I was a little bit blasted and decided to bet $75 on the US winning the match 3-2. So, as the match went on, and the US got a 3-0 lead, I got a little bummed out (well, not very, huge US soccer fan). But then, magically, Portugal scored 2 goals and only 2 goals, even though they dominated the last 30 minutes of the match. 3-2! Payoff 112:1! Paid off about a quarter of my college debt right there! Woo-hoo!@

An old British friend of mine put in roughly $2,000 on Ajax to win the Champions League back in the '94/'95 season. He wagered the money while the team was still in the group stage. Ajax won the tournament, and my friend was suddenly driving around in a big new car. Boy, did I envy him

I havent really had much luck, placed some bets at the last World Cup, mostly going on what my mate had told me.... Needless to say I was unsuccessful!

well, don't worry, i figure that i've probably lost as much money gambling as i've won... i wonder if there's some statistics on the average winnings and losings of gamblers...
