Hiya, this is my first post and i'm a newbie!
Just about to buy a fruit machine for the home from a local arcade.
Got a choice of: Cannon Ball Run (Global), Gimmi Gimmi (Barcrest), Ultimo (Barcrest) or Top Dog (Barcrest).
Which would you reccomend from the above?
Is Barcrest more reliable than other makes?
What do I need to make sure it includes (which keys, etc)?
Thanks for your help on this.
Your best bet is one of the Barcrest's. They are the most reliable. As far as keys go you will need a cashbox key & a front door key. A refill key may be useful as well. I personally would go for the Top Dog.
Johnny's Amusements @ 114 Gorgie Road in Edinburgh is the only arcade in the UK to feature a dedicated Retro Section.

I am not a GURU but I recommend you to buy Gimmi Gimmi I recently bought it for my house. And I am glad to have it because all my friends appreciate my choice.
hi tom im an ex pro living in canada these days.not totally familiar with globals, but if you want a machine for home you are looking for playablility.top dog is just a straight force for jp,and after it either flashes within 4 boards or it doesnt.kinda dull after a week.there is definitely some playablility in gimme gimme gimme, but the best of the 3 it definitely ultimo, although if you could you would be better off getting one of the earlier clones, either revolution or golden dragon.barcrest changed ultimo, makes it much harder to get jp,but for sheer playability that would be my choice if my arm was twisted.to be honest if i was going to buy a machine i wouldnt hesitate in tracking down a p1 25jp ready to rock.the most skilled chess game ever invented as a fruit machine.i was only one of about 6 people in the whole UK capable of emptying them, and they were a joy to play.you were always learning something new about the machine.the best ever by some distance.
