1. Timing. Ensure the machine is ready to play. How? Use a key, or simply see where the 'bar' is. Every 'cold' Deal or No Deal will only play 30% in cold play (that is, one guaranteed feature capped at £3 for every tenner inserted). If this is the case, leave the game. It's cold. (Another sign is sticky buttons - it's a message to other tricksters that the machine has v. recently been emptied (that day). Another tip - have a mix of coins and notes to play. use your coins first (£50) then switch to notes. You will need a "bank" of £250.
2. If the machine is going above the bar, i.e. offering £4/£5+ then it is going. (Never use the 'Win or Bust style buttons).
3. Switch immediately to £1 a game play and go all out for the jackpot (£70). Refuse all wins. To save time, if you are on the Caribbean Cash style game, or Poker Face, or similar, and you lose a gamble but still can enter the feature game, just collect the money. You never win the jackpot on losing feature games that still offer you the feature. You are wasting time and there are more machines to target.
4. You will get the jackpot eventually but it may take you £100+ to do so. You will get the jackpot by seeing the "Go all the Way" message OR the feature game will bring it in.
5. When you get the jackpot, you will get another one very soon after - in fact, it will probably be the next feature. So that's usually £140 in all (possibly more). The secret is to be disciplined, collect the double jackpot and leave the machine. Even if you stick in £120, that's £20 profit and that's the way you should think. IF you find the second JP is not immediately forthcoming, you should still see a "second wind" feature; that is, a very high feature offered. depending on your profit/loss, you may considered taking this.
6. The secret to winning on DOND and Poker Face etc. is to go for the jackpots. There are other little tricks but I obviously can't reveal the really juicy stuff, just the basics. Think - is it HOT? Then go ALL IN to the max and extract the value.
7. If one machine is 'hot' in a pub, then they all are - the tricksters haven't been round yet. Cash in!
8. The barman can be your best friend or worst enemy - so tread carefully (he may be in the trickster's pocket). Think carefully.
9. It is still worth knowing if the slot is backing (bearing in mind when it is refilled). However, use a mix of notes and coins when paying, always have a mate to 'cover' the machine, and if you really want to disorientate the trickster, sticky a button (a 'hold' button or 'start' button - use lemonade or llittle beer to 'stick')
10. Always leave the machine cold. Do not put in another tenner to chase JP number 3, this is rare, and you are simply putting in another tenner to win two (or three). Leave quickly, quietly, and go to the next pub.
11. If one machine in a pub is cold, then they all will be. Tricksters send to clean out the whole pub.
12. When collecting coins, always let them fall into your hands, to avoid attention. Rattling coins merely draws attention to you.
13. Always buy a drink, half a lager or a soft drink. Don't get drunk, ever.
14. Free Tip! On video DOND(on pubs with video terminals), you may be offered "GO ALL THE WAY". Be careful - if a MEGA streak is building (i.e. red hotels in the grid) you may be fobbed off with as little as £25. To be sure, always take the guaranteed £70 DOND. "GO ALL THE WAY" doesn't always mean the JP. If you see someone get £25 and leave, then pounce, as you will get afterplay for the difference.
I've only given a few pointers here, deliberately keeping the juicy stuff out. So please no PM as i can't reveal more than I have here (which is all common sense really).
