Well, I think it is much better if you will open some bidding on your fruit machines.

Does the fruit machine not have a sticker somewhere by the mains cable which gives the wattage of the machine? The average laptop will vary depending on size and how often the fan comes on (if there is one) but I doubt they will be over 150 watts.

They use miles more than your laptop. Anything that uses motors uses a lot more power (while in your laptop it's only the fan and disk drive), in a fruit machine it's 3 motors just for the main wheels.. then there's all the other lights - feature wheels etc.. Use quite a lot!!!!

Rubbish, the average fruit machine costs next to nothing to run.

It depends on the age of the machine, some of the models in the eighties and nineties used heavy real chambers. Obviously driving these would use more power than todays synchro winding reels.

Put it this way, use your friends to fill it up, then use a percentage of the takings to fund your electricity bills.

Depending on your fruit machine, google the terms for modifications of the model. Often you can adjust settings of the visual lighting patterns and the feature illuminations. This can all save you money if you are a concerned green gambler.

Most UK fruit machines are about 400 watts.
Johnny's Amusements @ 114 Gorgie Road in Edinburgh is the only arcade in the UK to feature a dedicated Retro Section.
