Newbie help, been ripped off on Ebay with SWP upgrade kit............

My story

I bought a Who wants to be..... SWP on Ebay, the unit works great and I have no issues with it at all..

On some listings a guy was popping up under ask a question, saying that he offers upgrade kits for these machines to turn them into multi game kits. So I contacted him and we negotiated a price to get a 12 game upgrade.

So as this was not listed directly on Ebay I opted for PAYPAL and made sure I did not send as a gift so not having any comeback.

The first Issue I got was delivery and lack of communication, so I followed via phone and email up 5 days after I made payment to see if the item has been despatched and if he could supply the tracking details..........I got fobbed off and said it would be going out Sat or Mon. 8 days after payment.

On Monday night at 7pm there were still no details through so I started a claim via PAYPAL. To my surprise in under 20 mins I had an email and the Royal Mail tracking number..... He also added

sent out ur gamebox 6 extra upgrade kit today as i said i wud... tracking number AH373847206GB sent via a post office so i imagine they use parcelforce.

wen u get it let me know its arrived and the silver thing with '6x' written on it inside the black dongle, clip it out and send me the number engraved on the back of it including all the zero's

So the package arrived on Wednesday and I phoned him up because there was a dongle and 3 discs, with no instructions on how to upgrade my system. He kept saying that I need to email him the number on the "6X" and then he would send through the details.

I sent off the details and he came back the next day, Thursday last week, saying

ok....now cancel the claim u put against me on paypal seen as u have received the kit

So I thought great, Cancelled the PAYPAL claim and then heard nothing from him. On the Friday night I called him because I got this email

ive just checked my paypal and its saying the transaction has been cancelled and ive payed u back £69.63...wats going on...till ive spoken with them nothing is happening... check ur paypal to see if it has been reversed???????

I then sent him my log and he sent me a screen dump and at this stage I still felt we would get a conclusion..................then the killer blow on Saturday night he came back with this

yes all sorted...money is there...

As for fitting the kit ive no idea, plus u have never asked me if i did know, i assumed u knew wat u were doing wen u bought it.
Anything i need doing i give to a friend who knows someone and he charges me £20.

i saw the kit working on a machine which had a monitor fault so i know its 100% fine and thats all i was given wen i bought it...
ring the company which makes the machine im sure they know

As you can prob guess he is not answering his phone and I dont know what I have and how to upgrade, even if I can.

So thats the story and I am hoping someone on the forum can help me install the upgrade on my machine, happy to offer some cash in order to do this and I will check my legal position with the person who sold me the kit.

In the kit there is a dongle and 3 discs, numbered 1,2,3 - the next step for me is a mystery.

I would add that I use the machine in my lads den, its not sited anywhere and is being used as a fun bank for me.

If anyone would like to know the Ebay users then I am happy to give out these details via PM. I dont want to compromise my legal position by publically exposing this crook openly on here.

I would suggest you include all the info you've put in this post and start another paypal claim. With no instructions & no support you are still being ripped off. This very post is google # 1 for 'SWP upgrade kit' so try putting the number on the dongle before 'swp upgrade kit'. Tried 'swp multigame upgrade installation' & no obvious help here either. Try posting same info on this slot techs forum : Slot Tech Forum
There are a lot of private machine owners on there & this forum was VERY helpful to me when I went back to being a slot tech for a few months in Tobago at the start of the year.
