What have RED done to Hi Lo Silver and Italian Job in the last 2/3 weeks?
4 weeks ago I did £990 profit from 11am until midnight in one day (2 players), playing mostly Hi Lo Silver and Indiana Jones. Now I appreciate that £990 is not the norm and virtually everything did go for us but prior to that time they were very straight forward, very easy to read, very progressive and would regularly (and I mean 3/4) go £70 or £105 from the top. On occasions you would get a Skill Cash followed by a £105 top soon after for over £100 profit.
Yesterday, I did £180 profit from 3pm until 1am in one day (2 players), again playing virtually Hi Lo Silver and Indiana Jones only. They aren't as progressive anymore, they regularly thrown in dodgy numbers, they show fales Red boards with no consistency, show low exchange points with no consistency and regularly give a flat £35 from the top.
You can still make money but it's usually 20s and 30s opposed to 80s and 100s and because they are difficult to read you can often lose 20s and 30s even when the initial 2/3 boards show Red features and low exchange points (which before would absolutley guarantee that if you don't make a profit you have done something majorly wrong).
Is it simply a new version? What was the reason? Low returns? To curb the Professional player and play more random? Or are they preparing them for the £70JP? Any thoughts?

army of ghosts
There is speculation of a re-chip, maybe they have calmed down after a good start? cashpots going way past £10 and being well off giving a top, hardly ever letting you get to a bullet no matter how low, costing between £8 and £15 for a board whilst in the middle of supposedly flying, i caught one the other day absolutely off its nut, without going into detail it cost £63 for £70 after checking for any remaining value i made next to nothing, these have spoiled us a bit, 2 years ago you was happy putting £30 in for a £70 on an invince/vortex, with these there has been plenty of cheap tops for massive profit, i'm not sure about the re-chip theory, surely certain short cuts would have been removed?
It makes no difference whether you leave them a week or a month, the point is the gameplay has totally changed as Eddie describes above.
I've spoke to a few contacts in the industry yesterday and can confirm that there is a nationwide software change being rolled out to most recent RED Gaming machines, not just Hi Lo Silver and Italian Job.
It's in preperation for the £70JP release in a fortnight. Any machine which has had the new version applied will have it's artwork changed and values increased for £70JP pretty much straight away as of the 2nd week in June.
It's difficult to work out what it means the gameplay will be like because at the minute we are effectivley playing a £35JP which is programmed for £70JP. So right now they obviously won't streak as much when you haven't had much in but if you've put £100+ then it might be a different story for getting 2/3 off the top which in a couple of weeks time will of course then be £140 or £210.
Time will tell but I hope things level out when they switch to £70JP because right now, having being used to these things being quite straight forward for a good few months, things have just got a little more difficult again and with some of the bread and butter stuff like Cluedos and clones, Cash Attacks, Hall of Fames etc dissappearing we're going to have to work for our money again.

ive had 'that feature' about 15 times in four days on different machines and they havent repeated once not a single time. i had the top go for str8 105 once but mostly 70's. they are unpredictable i usualy key to see how far off the back they are first. sounds like you had a very lucky day where abouts was this?
North East England.
It wasn't specifically lucky, it's just that until 3 weeks ago they consistently played very well and it was easy to take £80 profit if showing the signs early.
I'm confident things will improve with the £70JP increase. It's still possible to make profit on them you just have to be very careful and strict - only go for it if it consistently shows 7+ red features and / or a bullet at £2 or lower.

I would love to reply to OP I think I have hit 2 chipped machines, when at the top usually it gives a multiple of £35 ...
I get em only go for £45, £50 and next boards are stone dead.
I am sure they chipped it.
Anyone has the same experience?
The reason you got a £45 or £50 top is because thats all it wanted to pay, and yes they are usually stone after this, you can count yourself unlucky when it gives these 'odd' tops, i've had several myself, just one of those things i'm afraid.
