hi, ive just purchased a refill key to aid me to see if a fruit machine is worth playing, i know they are not guaranteed to work but its worth seeing if a machine is totally empty then i pretty much know im not going to win much, my question is are refill keys illegal to use in any pubs, clubs or arcade centres? i mean i dont want banning from my local for just checking how much money a fruit machine has in it, thanks
fruit machine keys are not illegal - this is because they do not give you any advantage over the fruit machine itself - just over other plays so using it will not make you very popular in your loca.
A key does have a place, but with daily fillers and note changers (which people use as change machines, but still leave them lively) they are not as useful as before, i'm lucky to have several machines with no notey that aint daily fillers.
some have a keying alarm that alerts the staff your keying it
army of ghosts
I believe its called Midas, or it certainly was, i had an alarm sound after keying a £15 each way nudger by Barcrest years ago, but have never had it happen since, not heard of anyone having any alarms go off these days, but i suppose it could still happen.
I have yet to see one that alarms, although the systems do exist.
I bet that new wireless data capture system has the capability to at least log, and probably remotely alarm, when the key is turned.
Can't remember the name of the system now, remember they were on Dragons Den though. It looked like a very good useful system for large sites.
