Default need help with fruit machine

hi all, firstly im new to this site and alot of the jargon you use, but ive looked through a fair few posts and picked up a few things. now my problem is that i bought a second hand fruit machine from ebay called pulsation which is a £35 jackpot, the machines in really good condition and i gather its about 2-3 years old, the only trouble is its to easy to win on it, ive opened it up to find a 78% payout key in there but its just so easy to win that im wondering if theres anymore settings that need changing? for example, if i play on the 50p start i usually need around £5 to get 10-12 nudges which 7-8 times out of 10 goes on to give me at least a tenner without even trying, the machine was totally empty when i got it and the only way i have put money into it is through the coin slots, should i fill the hopper up instead of putting through the slots? secondly the guy i picked it up from said it needs about £120-00 in for it to play right, im not sure if thats true as i was always under the impression that the more money in a machine the more chance of winning. so up to now ive put in about £30 and ive noticed no difference in its play, same old £5 in at least a tenner out, this can`t be right can it? you see i got it for abit of fun for when my friends come round but i can`t afford to be fleeced everytime one of my mates puts a few quid in, any anwsers would be very welcomed, thankyou

    This happens quite a lot.
It can be due to a flat memory back-up battery in most cases. The machine thinks it is starting from scratch every time it is switched on, and "plays happy" to get up to percentage.

MPU5 batteries are not normally rechargeable, so I doubt it is that.

If you replace the battery you will need to solder the new one in...
