Strange thing

Went to my local arcade yesterday and player a rainbow riches machine, 2 x £2 coins in and 1st spin all first 4 line full = £400 - magic but when it had finished adding it all up it actually put £440 in the bank, no wild symbols or anything like that were on the winlines couldnt work this out. then the employee who came to check the machine would pay out properly said that the same machine next door had done exactly the same £5 in and 1st spin and 1st 4 line all full but his one paid £400.

Is this something to do with a rigger or something like that i have heard of these things but never know if they are real or if they worked. not sure if its relavent to this or has anyone else experienced anything else like this
