    Default Reserving a machine...

Hi there, just a quick question.
I went into the local pool hall last night, waiting for the girlfriend, and I went to the one 3 reeler in the place. I hate 4 reelers. Anyway, the start button was flashing and a quid in credit, but no-one playing it. I asked the bar woman who was using the machine, and she pointed at some guy playing a poker tourney. I finished my pint, went over and said "Is that your quid in the machine?" He said it was, so I got a quid out and said here ya go. He said no I'm playing it. I said no your not your playing a poker tourney. He then said yeah but I'm going back on it in 2 minutes. He was chip leader and there was maybe 50 minutes to go before the break. Ipointed this out and he said yeah but I'll be going on it in the break. I said "Prick" and left it at that.
Hah funnily enough he went all in a couple of times, and was out in about 10 minutes lol. So he got back to his precious machine and lost about £50. By then My GF had turned up, so we played pool. She hates bandits and I never go on them when she's with me, and by the end of the night I'd forgot all about it.
Anyway, what I'm trying to ask is, do you think it's on, him doing that? I can accept doing it for 10 minutes while you nip out for a fag, or go to the loo or bar or whatever, but doing it when you know you could be away for at least an hour? Is their a sort of slot players etiquette regarding this?
    Cheers.

The most noticeable thing about pool halls is how frequently saturated with scum they are. (Case in point) Perhaps you should've offered him something for his stack in the poker game? If he rejects that then just go and play the machine (unless he is bigger than you).

Lmao I'm reading that thread now. OMG thats so funny. Did he post the video?
Anyway, cheers for your reply, I wasn't sure wether I was in the wrong. Now I can stop thinking I've been a knob. I did briefly consider just going on the machine anyway, but he and the 5 mates he had at the table kind of put me off that idea.

10 minutes for a fagbreak is cool, but to play poker and keep a quid in the machine for anything over is pathetic.

With the recent spate of poker comps being held in pool halls, scum are attracted to the cheap buy ins thinking they can double their Giro in one night. I would've just played the quid off, chucked him his quid and then left the machine for someone else to go on and left the joint

So you turn up for a poker game a few hours early. You get stuck into the machine and its not playing ball. youre x amount in and the tourney is starting. You honestly think im letting someone else play it?!?! Get fucked.

IMO, if anyone is being a prick, its the OP for calling someone a prick.

I would just laugh if someone called me a prick for reserving a machine.

Move on, nothing to see here.

P.S. Im glad im out of the game. Was lucrative but far too many cons outway the pros.

    Quoted from the 2+2 link:

"one girl(very big one, not quite as ugly as the other but easily a -7/10) starts yelling how she wants the "Fonthill guy". We are all confused and not sure what she's talking about....until we see Kevbo's shirt says FONTHILL on the front"
