Default What does "Compensated" really mean?

Noticed that a number of the £500 machines no longer state that they are random, instead the sticker on the front says something like - 'This machine is compensated and may be influenced by previous play'
So.................are they still random, or are they like a normal fruitie or somewhere in between?? How is it possible to half a "half random" machine?? Smells stinky me thinks.....................
£500 Slutto's, Riches etc still state random, it the likes of Megabars and Chip'n'spin etc that state compensated.

Has anyone any sensible answers?? Just curious really as I've done rather well on the rehashed 50p/£35 'compensated' Slotto Wintimes that have appeared recently using nothing more than old fashioned sharking / knowing when it's full / arcade refill days basics. Have I just been lucky or on the lower £35 'jackpot' level, is a 'compensated' Slutto ALMOST predictable???????????????

    As jp says gb...

but if you dig up the threads on what the term random means in terms of fruitties you will most probably understand the way they work...

I think they have reworded it because 'compensated' means they have to have an 'edge' somewhere/somehow, even thought not truly random, they are random enough to gain an average of 94% over any given time frame.

Cheers chaps. I was pretty sure the rehash £35ers were not random AT ALL.
Danny - I took part in some of the ancient 'what is random' threads myself. I get all the RNG business etc. I just fail to understand how 'compensated' and 'random' are two words/actions that are remotely compatible......................................
I'm also intrigued that it's only specific machine models that have the compensated sticker on them whilst others were rebadged when they went to £1 play but the new badge still clearly says the machine is random. Are there now two types of £500 mc efffectively operating - genuinely random ones and compensated, or are they all now compensated, but not stating it clearly??

Whilst we have a thread going on these suckers.........................
Could anyone explain to me quite how CMS Gaming have managed to get their goddammed 'Haunted House' machines back in circulation? These were the buggers you could play on up to £10 per spin. When Septembers law change came in they all disappeared . Now they are back with a nifty fiddle to get round the rules I presume. £1 play initially, but if you win an amount of £2 or over you can 'mega gamble' just like the bad old days on £2/4/6/8/or£10 per spin as long as you have enough in the 'just won' bank. I'm guessing theres some loophole in the rules that allows this by keeping the amount you have won on the previous credit separate in it's own bank from the actual credits inserted/wins banked pot. You must physically press a 'bank' button to move wins from this 'mega gamble' pot to the actual wins banked/credit pot to be able to physically collect them. How's this still legal as the rules may as well have never been changed judging by how well CMS have fiddled the redone Haunted House.................it's virtually identical to how it used to play!
