Playing in a pub in a small town some 10 miles out of my main route. I go there maybe 3 or 4 times a month but don't normally go in this pub. The wife was with me so we ordered our drinks - 2 Jack Daniel's and cokes. The bar tender was a polite bloke, up for a chat so we had a talk with him for 5 mins or so, the conversation coming round to jobs and we mentioned we were both teachers.
A few more minutes passed and we went over to play the Bucks Bunny which was full from the off and first board flashed for an IM. First IM I've seen for a while on these types, but the red Bucks Bunny feature only went for a flat £35.
Decided on a rechase which was quite a drawn out affair and saw us buy two more rounds of JD's from the bar.
At one point I really thought there was some kind of new program in it as every single board was £10 happy but wouldn't budge over that, unusual as this likes to offer a decent value board then piss around with a £3 board then go back up again etc.
It finally went in for a normal Bucks Bunny that did a £70. Hoping for the extra £35 off the next couple of boards I was more than happy to see it flash for another IM on the next board. This to my complete amazement went for a full £105 giving a total streak of £175. Never had one go this much before but knew it would empty as it wasn't a note changer unit.
Discreetly collected the auto pay into my hand and started collecting the rest until the hopper ran dry at £50 or so left to pay.
Now to be honest, I hate these situations at the best of times, new pub and all that but hoping our newly formed relationship with the bar bloke would hold up, I went over to tell him.
Immediately went into munter mode whilst he checked the i.o.u. on the display telling him how I didn't think it was possible for a machine to pay out so much, and how it was just my luck first time I win anything decent that the machine goes wrong.
He knew a bit about playing himself and proceeded to tell me about hoppers and how some machines have note changers so they can hold more money and be able to pay the full amount out. I stood fascinated by his explanation adding the odd munter type question now and again for good measure.
He told me how he'd have to call the engineer to verify and refill the machine and took my details. He said there was a chance it could be sorted tonight as they might be out in an hour or so and he would give me a ring if it was sorted.
Sure enough an hour later the call came to say the money was ready which we went over to pick up, already changed into notes for us. The bar bloke happily gave it us adding a 'well done' to which I bought him a drink.
Moral of the story ? You really can create the right image if you go about things in the right way, oh and £175 streak woohoo !

I had a £140 all in one go on a billy the quid last week, I was roughly about £30 odd in and it did a random flash, that went £35 from various small wins, then 3 lots of jackpots for a massive £140, did'nt know these could go this big and could'nt believe my eyes. luckily mine had a notey and it paid the lot, why do these machines have such big streak profiles yet they only hold a £125 float, in the last year i've emptied FNC, CCP, invincible twice, SMTM and vortex all with a £125 hopper, all that were playing well but just blocked for ages, when they do go they go really big due too being loads in. its about time they all had £250 hoppers too cope with these big streaks on the £35 jackpots. had too wait 8 weeks just too get paid £13, and another place that had a brilliant vortex i got barred from for emptying it when it cost me £70 for a £70 top.... still showing, and gave me another £70 in the next few quid, left my details, got a phone call too say my money was there and was told that the machine company had advised the pub not too let me play there machines. was a good earner while it lasted. if it was only a few quid i would just refill it myself, but when it £20-£30 why should i.

I do NOT understand how people can go and play theese utter piss shite machines, I realise they can streak but you will always be down overall if you pay to play theese machines.

I am always getting barred. I think its because im 19 and go in on my own and can only buy 4 halfs of strongbow and then I have to by law buy cokes or orange and when that happens its well time to go.....

I do the most I can in the fact I give them so much respect but when I streak an invicnible for like £140 or £105 then say thanks and walk out they are never happy at all.

the vortex was in the hobby horse and i think it has now gone, they also had a power 5 in there that worked and i think they got the hump over that aswell. i used too be friendly with the manager in there and we had a mutual friend that assured me that i would never get barred from there, but he moved too another boozer and i got barred within a fortnight, never mind.
