My refill key illegal eh?

Got caught using it today and arcade owner was not happy to say the least, he said its breaking and entering?

He threatend me with the police numerous times, until i finally told him to call them and i will freely stand here, in the end he said dont come back and i left.

No action was taken legally, but the owner protests they are illegal.

Can someone confirm or deny this? I told him the old "it does not affect the machine in anyway, but allows you to make a decision" but he wernt having any of it.

Is it NOT illegal, since it has no bearing on the machine, and doesnt open anything. However discretion is recommended, since burly site owners etc may not see it this way!

It's definately not breaking and entering but there is an argument for tampering as on certain Extremes you can trick a feature in using your Key. Personally I've never used a key and don't intend on getting 1 either. I do just fine without 1. With Noteys now you can't get proper readings as it could be £100 light but £300 heavy in notes. I've got a CCP and Jailbirds my way that more often than not the Notey is Red "X" meaning its over half empty but I still get £70 tops off them.

Also a perfect example of how they can f*ck you over is I've got a pub round the corner from me with an Invincible in. Refill day is every friday morning. I went in there a couple of thursdays ago and got the £105 streak off it. Back in there on the friday with a mate having a pint when someone walks up n shoves his key in. He then turns to his 2 mates and says "it's only £4 off. They both dived over and all starting wacking quids in. We left after they where about £40 in. I went back saturday and had a nice cheap £70 Top

Definatly not illegal, just frowned upon by arcade owner and licencees. unfair advantage and all that bollocks. if you get caught, swallow your pride and just leave!!

I used a refill ky once and found it a complete waste of effort and it ended up lost on the town somewhere. What is a CCP and a jailbird.

they are not illegal to own but they are illegal to use on someone elses machine, I read up on it somewere in coinslot.

Has anyone known anyone who has actually been prosecuted by the CPS for any such instances. I mean, lets say the police tried to stick a fraud charge on you, it went to Crown Court and my Barrister showed the jury what the refill key did.

"Members of the jury, my client turned the key, and REFILL COINS X 0 was displayed."
