    Quote from Coinslot

"Budget gives green light for implementation of £35 jackpot
The UK AWP market has been given a welcome shot in the arm thanks to
Gordon Brown's 2007 Budget. A realignment of Amusement Machine Licence Duty (AMLD) banding has seen the new £35 AWP jackpot brought into line with the existing Category C classification, while existing duty rates have been frozen. Prior to Brown's announcement, the £35 jackpot fell into Category B4 classification, attracting an annual levy of £1,780, consequently rendering the boosted jackpot largely unviable for all but the most experimental British operators. The good news is that as of midnight, March 21, operators can switch to the £35 jackpot at the frozen AMLD rate of £735 per annum. The Budget was less kind, however, to remote gaming, which had its tax rate set at 15 per cent - the same rate as gross profits tax payable by UK-based bookmakers - and the bingo sector which had argued a strong case for the removal of VAT on participation fees. "

Looks like they will start appearing in BIG numbers now!

    Yes indeedy,
Brace yourself for a major upgrade over the next few months.
I for one will be happy because my local route has become rather short in supply of decent machines.

I've still not seen one yet, it does add a certain 'flavour' to the awp industry and a little something to refresh eh.

Will they all be 50p play though or will they just continue on this route of 30p/50p play options

All the ones I have played so far have been just purely 50p play, no 30p/50p option, there was one of these 2 option machines/two reels in my local a month ago before the change to 50p and sure enough it has been removed quicker than you can say 'jackpot' and been replaced with a brand new 50p 3 person standup. Times are changing and I like it!

some are just a straight 50p a spin such as low tech dond
others have a 25/50p option such as partytime double decker
others have a 30/50p option such as the new coronation street one
seems to be a bit of a mixed bag but reassuring to know that they are trying to bring awp's foward and aren't just concerntrationg on the s16's. Just imagine if the '4 rule' wasn't in place, the manufacturers and arcade owners would have nothing but s16's everywhere ! scary thought isn't it ?

i can only gather here that you mean an arcade is only allowed to have 4 S16's.
untrue i'm afraid or the arcades i go in are breaking the law lol

for instance my local town arcade has 2 rainbow riches, cashino, gaminator, mega bars, slotto, reel king and some crappy bingo game which i presume is S16 as it has a £500 jackpot

oh and some thing that is 50p £35 jackpot its in a wierd case i think its by gamesloft although im unsure but this could be a S16 also as it can produce £500 on its bonus features when you get a £35 jackpot. has 4 games to choose from....dont know what its called as it just looks real crap and had no real appeal to me

And to note on the original question..... I have a fair few £35 50p on my rounds (main area is Exeter, would of thought you guys in the larger citys would have seen some by now)

Also...i beginning to ramble now i know lol, but anyways has any of you guys played a multi stake machine i.e. 30p/50p and its still only a £25? ive seen a few of these about and feel a little conned as you'd expect them all to be £35

About the 'four rule' has that come in then, when did it come in? I understand the rule but cannot understand how it can be implemented, my biggest local has say about 30 s16's plus the new £35 jp's, it is all one room not divided by doors to avoid the new 'rule'. Why do they have so many if the law has come in??? Are there exceptions to the rule????
