Homers meltdown

Hi there,

I own a Homers Meltdown machine, and I am getting the following message when I turn it on:

1.6 MECH NOTE ERR

The alarm also sounds. Occasionally, the machine will start up normally, however when it is in the 'standby' mode (ie. no one playing), the lights kinda flicker. Can't explain exactly, but it just doesn't look right. When I do manage to get this far, the machine itself plays fine.

Any ideas? The machine has been working fine for over 2 years, and I have not fiddled with anything I can think off. Has it developed a fault?

possible power suply or mpu fault. sounds like a fault on the board, but might be the psu causing the board to error

Sounds more like the psu to me, use to have a couple of maygay's in that cabinet, forever changing power supplies, good games crap hardware!! won't cost you much to replace especially if you know someone in the trade sort you one out cheap
