I was just wondering, how many reel stops are there on the average S16 ?
Do they actually equate to the random number generator ?
Let's take an example...for the sake of argument let's say there are 30 stops on each reel. The £500 JP requires all 5 reels to be in alignment (this is assuming that there is only one set of symbols that will award the £500 JP), so on a 30 stop reel you have a 29-1 chance of missing the alignment for a JP...5 reels so you multiply this...(I'm so gonna get crucified by the maths types here)...you multiply this for each reel giving a whopping 20511149-1 chance of hitting JP. Or (cos I can't work out which one I should use) 29x5 which is only 145-1 which seems a little more like it but still a little generous.
The reason I ask is if I was a newcomer to these, let's take say a CMS Haunted House where you need 5 haunted house symbols anywhere in view to activate the feature, my mind would tell me that it really is quite hard to get, but If I *knew* the reels would automatically spin in for the correct formation if I hit a certain random number then my mind would accept it isn't as hard to get after all. Am I making sense here ? I really did use to think that the Haunted House feature was awarded if the 5 individual reels stopped randomly with 5 haunted houses in view.
Anyway I think I've answered my own question...I was just thinking out loud, they don't equate the reel stop probability to the random number generator.
I'd love to see just what the probabilities are of each win on a S16, after all you get to know what the odds are of winning on a scratch card don't you?

Confucius say "man who know wombat know more than stupid looking monkey"
Confucius also say "man who know Kebab has 60 inch waist"
Confucius finally add "man may deal, but man may not 'know' deal"
1 in 5 kid.
Also to note, i think i said this before, if 'all' combinations where 100% random on 'each' spin, then who's to say its not possible for 1 million JPs in a row?
The other thing to note, is, for example, on a 78% pub AWP, nudges in spin are predetermined before the actual spin, now on s16's, if they are indeed random why would it not be possible for a nudge for JP, then the next 9 spins another 9 jps? If it was 100% random, there is no excuse.

The reels them selves are not random in the machine.. Its an actual win its self which is random so it might have say generate a random number from 1-1000 then if the number generated = 786 then payout JP...
Why has it come to this?
the reels are just a visual representation of what you win that spin. ther is no set pattern to them, and the same prize will/can be paid out in different ways, IE 3 symbols on Random spinner or 10 free spins or just a basic fruit win.
It'd be interesting to look up the reels to see how far away you were lol
Its crazy watching these things, as i work in an arcade I watch this machine daily.
We have a mexicana slotto and a party games slotto.
Our party slotto drops a JP once a week if not two times.
Our mexicana which is the exact same machine but different program drops very very very rarely.
I have worked there 11 months and its gone two times but since the last time its had over 10k through it and not gone....strange eh :P
ive seen the JP screen come up four times in one day before on 50p a go lol :P she was v happy.

Video reels mean nothing
However, whats everyone think about s16's with actual reels some of which have only three reels maybe making a mathematical calculation more realistic??
so whats to say its impossible for 768 to drop in 1 million times in a row if indeed truly random? the odds are probably 500,000,000,000,000 - 1 but with randomization, its not entirely impossible.Originally Posted by Scott
