thought it was about time to review some of the latest stuff out there in the pubs. seem quite good machines and some shite.

QPS - snakes and Ladders
Another SSS clone with a twist, a very slow and badly programmed machine (get the Mega Streak and you will see). I have done the SSS method on this a few times now and it has always resulted in small profit, but never a loss. however i have noticed it doesnt like offering the SSS until very late into the force, then suddenly offering the hidden IM board. seems quite a quirky lil machine in respect, regular boards in normal play. After the SSS method the machine seems to offer the usual Fast Cash for £15 too, this still being a true skill, even though many people doubt it, it really is hehe.

Barcrest Flash Cash
Quite old but its one of barcrest latest "released" machines. Not a direct clone of SRM etc, but close in terms of gameplay and feel. This machine loves to offer you lots of let em spins, and likes to give a win for the nudge gamble.

However the feature is the poorest part of the machine, regular boards which dont offer you the red trail and on the latest chip the "free squares" (like the bonus nudge ones and nudges) have been removed s you can potentially die from any square now. The free streak is still in the machine, as many of you would have found out, the jackpot which follows can be as much as £10-£15 away.

Overall a decent machine which has a monster streak in it, appeals to all kinds of players, as most barcrests do.

Maygay - Inferno Towers
This one must be on test at the moment as its only in one pub around here, its a direct clone of King Kerching, plays very tight and doesnt force very well, howver the machine does have a hidden IM board where the castle in the top part of the glass flickers upon feature entry, as does the maygay logo.

Overall not a bad start to 2006, i agree with most people barcrest should be looking to release another Space Raiders clone, a supreme machine which requires some skill to play, even when dead the machine offers the player a chance of jackpot, that may not be so obvious to the regular player, normally involves the taxi or the "1" after the wipeout for the mega streak

QUALITY machine.

In what way would you say that it isn't a direct clone Vivida? Apart from, for instance, it never seems to offer boost at the start, even if its off its tits.

Also, what have they done with the new chip to take away the free spins? Have they taken out the the 4 select etc? (I think its 4 select anwyay, among others)

When I started playing this machine, I thought it was a really good version, but recently, it seems to be getting worse! Maybe its because the machine I hit regularly is a 70%, so its always tight as a Jew's arse!

dont think they've gotten rid of the free squares tho mate.

You mean the squares that it can only roll you a select, for example, 4 select, therefore it cannot move you onto a mystery. Is that what you meant Daz? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick? I know these squares, thing is, +1 streak isn't one of them. It can, and quite commonly does, spin in a 5 (I think it is a 5 anyway) to take you off the red board.
