Hello chaps! I have a quick question -

A friend of mine was in a social club last night, and some guy got on the board on the above machine and the name flashed, as per IM. Rather than go round the board until he got the jackpot, the bloke collected £7, and then he stayed on the machine and lost a good £40 in it.

My friend rang me to ask whether the IM board would come back or not.

Now, I'm a bit rusty these days when it comes to the latest games, so I couldn't give him a concrete answer. I suggested that the JP comes out of a separate pot and everything else comes off the main reflex. But what percentage goes where? I suggested around 5% goes to the JP pot and the rest feeds the Main, so if the machine is on 80%, 4p of every £1 goes to the JP, and 76p goes to the Main. Therefore you should see a JP for every £2500 that goes in, or for every £500 clear profit the machine makes.

I then suggested that the £7 the bloke collected would have come off the JP pot, so he needed to play it until that £7 had gone back on, which meant playing £175 of games through, minus what the bloke did after collecting the £7. My friend said the machine was playing well, so the Main obviously had value in it.

So that's what I left him with - cycle a good £100 through, collecting everything, and see if the JP comes round. He's going to text me later to tell me how he got on.

Was this correct thinking or was I completely off the mark?

Any sensible feedback appreciated!
