    Does anyone know if there is a way to tell whether it is a P1 without playing it, different wording on the LED perhaps?

    no theres not. If it doesnt work your gonna lose all of around £10 if even that, though its probably not even worth the hassle if its P1 its probably being hammered{unlikely}.
