Hot Rocks help

Can anyone offer some help with Barcrest Hot Rocks. It takes ages to force it to a jackpot, even when its backing and then it hardly ever repeats.
I've tried just collecting small wins and medium features in the hope of building a bank, but I just seem to put in what I take out and make no profit.

Any tips would be appreciated.

don't collect anything., just play if offering £5+ on shots after 2 spins. if not walk. if so force it (by collecting nada) and play the next board after jackpot for a possible IM. If no IM, take 2 spins (guaranteed not to die) then collect.

the superhold steal has been chipped out (used to work on topdog).

Exactly what Alex said, Alot of people think this has a flat profile after the releases of Top Dog and the Big Cheese which have nice £50 to the occasional £100 usually £75 though.

I often force from when offering £4 or when offering the 3 icons to activate the top board.

The JP does repeat alot of the time its the only machine that I actually belive if I get the JP I have a very good chance of a repeat.

After a JP is achived the next board can IM and repeat or just IM and then IM again.

but basically just do as Alex said and you cant go far wrong.

P.S if backing the run is usually due within 1 - 3 JPs
