Watch your mobile at that machine!
Saw something rather funny today and wondered if anyone else had seen anything like it. I went into a pub iv'e never been into before today to meet somebody, as i was waiting for them i went to play the fruitie and saw a note stuck on it.
Please do not use your mobile phone near the machine or you will be asked to leave.
Whats that all about? Made me chuckle anyway and i nearly went to take a picture on my mobile until i realised what i was doing. Anyone seen anything like this?

or maybe something to do with memory features like follow me.
its probably to do with all this talk on micro/ir so called 'emptying' devices, maybe someones told him about them and for that he banned mobiles nearby in case they did affect gameplay. maybe someone hit a streak while talking on the phone and the idiot thought the phone was the reason. Using a phone on follow me features isnt cheating anyway, the machine generally will only offer what it can afford to of this and true skill features

Yes, I think you're probably right, as microwave or Rf radiation can affect the machines chip or disrupt them, but if a mobile phone had that sort of output the heads of the users would be cooked to a crisp by now!!
Secondly, as u say too, the follow-me type features which can produce jackpots are only awarded as and when the machine is 'ready' so again the guy is daft.
Maybe he fears you are listening to a 'dial-an-emptier' info line or something!
Just shows how much bar staff and managers know about Fruit Machines imo.

Yeah but arcade owners/staff are usually daft as 2 planks, and are doing everything in their power to stop us the players making any sort of profit.
He could think exactly what you have wrote down on the thread that it could be disturbing the machines chip, but if that was the case why would it disturb the chip in the players advantage and not mess it up so that it takes a £100 for a board?

They aint going to know about pushing M/C's more than likely, and they aint going to know about whats skill/psuedo skill and they also aint going to know about progression, so therefor will just ban phones (just incase) - if someone come in and said "spanking gorgeous pot noodles disturb the sensors with there superior smell" they would probably ban them!!

If i had an arcade i would encourage them to try and empty the machine with a mobile/ir device
