Are you guys being sarcastic? Backing horses based entirely on their price/market position will eventually result in empty pockets!![]()
no, thats what i do and i very rarely loseOriginally Posted by Illunga Mwepu
although i see where your coming from, it could easily happen and by probability probably should. I dont back horses often but when i do i near always win more than i lose

Totally agree there Anfield, I have won handsomely on the horses just to watch my dog get twatted on the first bend! Have cut back on bookies a lot and stick to what i know best.
Its just that the odds make no difference IMO as the faveourite could be 5/2 and there could be a 5/1 and the fave can hit the cage on opening and then the 5/1 cuts the other dogs up on the corner its just luck
p.s off to Anfield tonight for a game between us and RSC Anderlecht, come on you red-men![]()
think I might go on Gerrard first goal scorer and 2-0 to us prob get around 25/1 for that

You will draw tonight 1 - 1 and Cisse will get the first goal!
Any time you aggressively play seven deuce off suit, the universe will bend the laws of short term probability in order to re-balance the long term probability abuses by those trashy players who only play premium hands
Backing all turf handicap favs @ 2/1 or greater would have brought a 10% loss over the last ten years. Backing any given SP over the years blindly would result in a loss- roughly the same year in year out. There is a pattern, so with a bit of extra work you can pick out the winners if you put the work in...Originally Posted by a1056688
One thing any backer of horses should consider is 'trainer-jockey' stats. There are certain jockeys that run well for certain trainers- over the past two years I have backed one particular jockey running for one trainer after a run of 5 losses and never had a losing run over 5! Last win only last week was a 14/1 winner. Stats are big in horse racing- this jockey has a strike rate of just over 20% with the trainer so I wait for a loss of 5 runs then back the jockey at anything under 16/1. It has worked a treat- especially on the AW. Of course, this wil die out as the jockey gets older, but it occurs all the time- it helps to look at the stats for the past year or two to find jockeys that combine with certain trainers rather well.
Anyway, enough of that lol, this is a fruit machine forum after all!![]()
