I now stand in the belief that 25p is a hell of alot worse than 30p, played a YYD in a pub I frequently drink in (every day - not even my local) on 30p, worst cost 6 quid for a board, unless a LES screws you, but went to another pub I occasionally drink in and played the 25p version cost 9 for first board, 2 pounder, f*cked it off and try next board, cost 7 for yet another 2 pound board - which I took - I then thought I has to give a quick board, 6 pound later yet one more 2 pound board - took this too, tried one more - cost 4 quid, gave me 4 quid on shots with doubles, no credit - another quid in for restart chance - no, walk. So 27 quid in for 8 out, Just under 25% and to make things worst I was backing, and no it wasnt refill day, that was thursday!!!
I have had some good experiences on 25p's but the above took the biscuit...
Any thoughts?
Dave

A bit off topic but which pubs do you drink in around Birmingham?
Maybe no-one has played it since refill day![]()
Any time you aggressively play seven deuce off suit, the universe will bend the laws of short term probability in order to re-balance the long term probability abuses by those trashy players who only play premium hands

yeah playing a 25p version will take longer to offer good amounts etc 30p version will get buzzed more quickly, the only real advantage of 25p is if you hit the streak it will cost slightly less to see it throughOriginally Posted by anfield road

Yeah thats true Darren.
Although talking about 30p / 25p I will say something a bit similar-----
Had hit the streak on a £5 PYP (Impulse) and it was a 5p and it was taking £2-£4 for every board and still going red![]()
anyway got £30 off it and was even, (this may have being a weird short streak to level the %age out not sure though)
so played a 10p and that ran for £50 taking no more than £1.50 to a board therefore gainig maximum profit, so in other words saying it would take more to see the streak through on a 30p than a 25p is not necesarily true.
And also if a 30p was streaking then it would take no more than £5 to feature entry.
if 25p would take no more than £5 to a board - see what i mean![]()
and a streak on a 25p i presume you mean a £25 would give no more than 4 IM taking no more than £20 to get the 4 JPs
its quite hard to explain what I mean, hope someone understands lol![]()

I always assumed, and I may be wrong that a machine works its percentage out mainly on credits?Originally Posted by anfield road

I thought along the same lines. I personally have not noticed a great difference on 30p play compared to 25p in terms of board costs, but I have noticed that on 30p play your money seems go a hell of a lot faster.Originally Posted by Justanewone
Surprising, only 3 less credits every £4.![]()
