I know many of you win quite a lot of money on fruit machines, but at the end of the day, with everyone involved concerned, the people who own these machines are the ones who make the money in the longterm.
Does anyone know whether an average person could buy a machine and approach a pub landlord and ask whether he would let you use your machine in his pub- what % would the owner of the pub get? How much would a license cost to put your machine in a public house?
I bet there's a it of money to be made if you could successfully get a machine into your local pub...
Any thoughts or points welcome![]()
The brewery usually get small local suppliers in and there is a 33% split on each. 33% to the landlord, 33% to the brewery and 33% to the supplier of the machine. My mates mum owns a few pubs, and runs a managed one by the brewery, she has 2 mcs, PCB and a VIU![]()
They probably wouldn't take it off someone single, like going up to a landlord and saying "want to use my bandit in your pub" because the landlord wouldn't know anything about mcs, so the liability would be too big, if someone smashed fook out of your machine pissed up who will pay for it?![]()

A few of those in prime locations and u would be onto a healthy sum everytime u emptied the cash box.
My question is, how much do you think the typical regularly played machines takes over the back per week? For example, a PCB or VIU, not something like a BFM where forces would b few and far between. £100? more? I dont really have a clue.
I once heard of a monopoly multiplayer taking over £1k in a week. ha ha, luckily it wasn't me that was playing it. I think there must have been something wrong with it, also heard of bx7 doing this, but the player was refunded £350 and then barred.

Also what would happen if an emptier or top method was found for this machine? Dont you have to pay for software revisions etc, and if not, your machine would be permanently battered, e.g. BKC et al
Good point. If you had a few though, I'm sure you could afford to lose out on one machine- plus emptiers are few and far between these days- I'm talking emptiers that completely empty the machine's hopper...Originally Posted by levartemit
As for the software revisions, anyone know how much they would cost?
I heard it was difficult for standard people and in that sense I mean none suppliers people just playing them for home use. to get their hands on brand new equipment.
You usually have to be in the business to get an invite to the conventions/shows etc. Brand spanking new machine cost quite a bit aswell. People were offering £20,000 for Golden Game when it first came out
yer, but thats golden game, I think standard £25's retail @ about 2-3 grand when first published, dependant on manu. but if you wait long enough the value drops pretty quick after the first 3-4 years, you can pick one up for about £200-500.
