do you put into a machine before you decide to walk away? Also how much would you expect to put into a machine to take a reasonable amount out?
As posted many a time on here, best method is to stick around £15 straight in before a spin, if backing then either way really, whether there is a method or just a straight force, every machine is different. If not backing when you've put that £15 in then get what you can from the machine, take £3-5 wins etc. Try get your £15 back and walk off.
Like I've said before knowledge and discipline is the key to playing machines for a profit.
Btw, Backing is when the hopper is full and the coins drop through to the cashbox. Seen as though your fairly new, avoid club machines, maybe shove your change in from a round, but stick to pub machines for now... once you get to know the ropes it becomes so easy, and never tell anyone you know locally what/where/when or howUnless you dont want that certain mc to profit on just my 2 pence

If the first board is offering say £4, gamble on and see what happens on the next board, if that too offers £4 or plus, then I'd consider forcing the machine then.Originally Posted by DannyC

The first few boards usually determine how much the streak is gonna cost- I was playing Never mind the Jackpots on monday and first board offered super streak so I knew the mega streak was only gonna be another £20- £30 away... £30 later it gave £40 off the mega streak then gave me super streak twice following th next two boards.
As DannyC says, you'll learn them pretty quick, the best way is to learn for the good signs when a machine is wanting to start paying out- frequent feature entry for little in and then offering £6 wins for example. If it costs £5 plus to get on the board and then it kills you at the £1.60 mark, then I'd tend to leave it alone, depending on the machine.
True but I dont agree with your first statement of
I've only ever known this to happen on Red mcs and Refill's. Club machines could be seen as 'fake' backing because some like cnr can suck up to a ton backing without even more than 2 feature entries.Although you can get false backing remember

Yes cfdu, my point was people might think because a club machine is backing that the next 20-30 quid will do it when it 99% of the time wont.

Very much indeed. I was just stating that point before other people go rushing into trying to force a clubbie when backing and getting all excited that £250 will be there's within 20 quid.
