Well, just had a couple of days in Skeggy for my sins.
The machines were, well mixed results to say the least.
Lots of Bar x's on Chuzzy 'fast spin' chips, and curiously most operators using the same chip. Not like the glory days of the early chips but solid enough to buy your sausage chips and peas followed by 10 doughnuts at least 3 times a day.
Plenty of section 16 spawning in every casino corner, woefully unplayed from the operators point of view (hoorah from our point of view). Tried a pony in Party Games on 20 lines to get 3xcherries twice....yawn.
I played the £5 JP where nostalgia got the better of me, Ace's "watch for my hidden treasures" brigade had me smiling in reflection alongside the likes of Viva Las Vegas ('crests origional) and Maygays Pink Panther where I duly got caught one step before the Eiffel Tower.
The all singing all dancing multi-players were largely ignored, I couldn't be bothered finding out where the chips/pots were at on the Golden Monopolys seeing as the locals were circling with malice in their eyes.
A nice quick rip off a Jackpotters on super reel roulette restored my faith in early 'crests, as did a Mega Halloween on an Addams family, much to the obvious annoynace of a local who was forcing the Dambuster to the left of me. Curiously he was turning down the automatic IM after £35 or so in and playing for it off normal board..didn't help him get anywhere near the streak I might addHis mood darkened as I took it upon myself to accumulate as many pound coins as possible by skimming off the top of most machines and hitting the next as quicky as possible... A peso's relinquished an early JP off £10 and a 'happy' bonus after a short nudge shuffle battle. A Magic 10 coughed up a £45 for a few credits and then a bar x tinkled away on the holds off *that* reel combination. The guy was getting irate with his stubborn Dambuster whilst seeing all this oppurtunist luck around him.
Left him to it and sought out the wife who will play all £5 JP King Kebabs and Austin Powers she can find. She did well over the couple of days, about £15 up which is great for her.
Can't all be glory can it though? Got dragged in the local bingo in the eve (no such luck watching England for me) and noticed two Big Top multiplayers.
Haven't played these for ages but got on one and duly forced for the reds...and forced and forced...well fuck me, £140 squids later I only manage to blag one by holding all when one nudge away and forcing it in only for it to give £6. Another £40 in and I get it the same way for it to give £45 through a combination of wins I've never seen before...the penny drops...when did these get a rechip to stop red streak manipulation?? Passed me by that one.
Anyway, it was pissing it down today so we came home early and a quick count up puts me about £30 down after paying for the beer and heart attack food. Good fun was had by all ? Well it was a nice change but I wouldn't do it every holiday. Less and less of 'my era' of machines to play. Give it 10 years and we'll all be playing section 32 random jobbies or something like that.

Think it's running the same chip as the Stars 'n' StripesCan't all be glory can it though? Got dragged in the local bingo in the eve (no such luck watching England for me) and noticed two Big Top multiplayers.

Bugger, I couldn't work out why a couple of the other units were dropping the 7's as this is usually unheard of on the earlier chips.

i didn't know untill fairly recently, but they can hold over and over.
possible to empty it from getting that many holds on 7's.
