    Default Chipped or not?

I know this will change from place to place but when a machine is put into a pub are they always put in with the latest chip? Is there a chance a machine will be put in a location without the most recent chip?

Also in my area i seem to have the same machines just swapping locations, is it possible the same company do most of the pubs around there and just swop them around?

You'll find that area's are covered by one supplier and swop the machines about (knowing someone with the list can be invalueable). New cabs certainly doesn't mean latest versions - has a new wrapped JTT but was V1

About 8 suppliers cover my area (which is just about all of the North East these days):

    Leisure Link
    Games Tec
    Crown
    J&A Leisure
    Northumria Leisure
    Bobb Rudd Gaming Ltd
    etc..

However, I do still notice when machines are moved from location to location though. E.G Bobb Rudd have 2 DnP that I know of which move about the whole of the North East from Darlington to Newcastle.

Look out for the supplier sticker on the side. If it isn't one of the top 3 on the list above it may well be unchipped. Not as much chance with the top 3 but still possible. Smaller suppliers are often reluctant to purchase new chips.

    Certainly happens.

Had 2 bling kings (one in a big pub), a LOTR which did the superhold (in a Nobles, who paid out when some idiots IOU'ed it) and a Money Laundry in a Bookies. All long gone now mind you, but it still happens!

Yep stew, it's pointless and greedy. Worst thing is the guy complained after they moved it!

Can't see why you'd want to IOU anything, makes it more likely they'll get rid of it. Any genius can work that one out, surely?!

Thats why certain mech's running original versions are kept within a certain few "players" who talk to each other so not to push them too much - resulting in them being moved (out of the area where others can make an easy return )
